WORK IN PROGRESS FICS:
—How to Rest coda fic
—On the Nature of Attraction follow-up fic
—A fic that is currently in the outlining phase, affectionately titled “kissy kissy uwu”, or the Shadowgast get-together fic. Takes place shortly after the wizards’ solo Aeor trip, featuring a BeauYasha wedding and “the joyful yet agonizing state of being in the same vicinity as your crush and knowing that there’s something there but being too scared to make any moves.”
I was originally planning on this being a fairly chunky one shot, but it has gotten much bigger during the planning stages, so it may end up being multi-chapter. We’ll see.
I am very excited to work on this one!
—A silly AU/crack treated seriously fic focused on the Thelyss brothers and their relationship. Maybe a hint of background Shadowgast if there is a place for it. Outlined fairly well, but on the back-burner while I work on “On the Nature of Love”.
They want to be alive for this, and so, here and now, they are.
I have been deeply unwell about this episode for the last two weeks, and I don’t see it stopping anytime soon. My heart is so full. I am overjoyed, delighted. I will never be the same 💕
i can’t tell if this is in line with my tendency towards literalism or if this is a sign of growth in my ability to recognize and appreciate metaphor, but it’s really funny to see so many deltarune posts like, “the SOUL is like a demon/alien possessing kris! kris is fighting the player at every turn!!!” and i’m like, “idk i think kris is a teen who has gone/is going through a lot and is experiencing a lot of conflicting emotions and desires, causing them distress and depression. them ripping their heart out of their chest is the way the narrative is externalizing that conflict.” like i’m sorry, i just don’t see kris and their heart as fundamentally different characters. opposed, yes, but parts of the same person nonetheless.
from my perspective, the boundary between myself and kris when i'm playing is blurry, permeable in places. i am playing kris in the sense that i control them in the video game, but i am also playing kris in the same way an actor plays a character. the way i approach the story does not position me above them; we are in this together, for all the conflict and catharsis the game has to offer
okay last thing. the game starts with an opening sequence where you design a character that gets thrown out. it acknowledges you as a player, asks you to craft an ego, and then yeets it out of there and tells you no, you are kris. it literally tells me the terms it’s operating on. why shouldn’t i engage with it in that way?

the unend tuesday night teehees are POWERFUL this week, as evidenced by them starting on monday night and by a burbling excitement swelling in my chest every moment my mind wanders from whatever I’m trying to focus on
