In a meeting last week, the pope said that it’s “terrible” that children are taught to “choose” their gender, and that transgender people represent the “annihilation of man.” There’s this excerpt:
The pope said he wanted to conclude his remarks by reflecting on this: “We are living a moment of annihilation of man as image of God.” He added that his predecessor, Benedict XVI, had labelled current times “the epoch of sin against God the Creator”.
He said: “Today, in schools they are teaching this to children – to children! – that everyone can choose their gender.” Without specifying, he blamed this on textbooks supplied by “persons and institutions who donate money”. The pope blamed what he called “ideological colonizing” backed by “very influential countries”, which he did not identify. One such “colonization”, he said – “I’ll say it clearly with its first and last name – is gender.”

Saying it again: Maybe he’s said some more progressive things than other popes, but that doesn’t make Pope Francis an ally.
I maintain that it is extremely and deliberately threatening to transgender people in Catholic countries in the global south for the Pope to be associating “transgender” with “colonialism.” There are already more trans women getting murdered in Brazil than in any of the country and the pope is intentionally pouring gasoline on this situation. He’s from Latin America, he knows what he’s doing. The man is an overstuffed bag of turds with a mitre on.

even just from a brotp perspective, the end theme for DSOD, 'To Believe in Something' is pretty heavy stuff. sample lyrics: 'To believe in something/is what I crave', 'Oh when you found me for the very first time/Then I think of all/and does it matter anymore/I believe in you'. It sounds like Kaiba's saying he's literally LOST FAITH without Atem, and that all the bad blood that went down between them doesn't matter anymore, Atem's just been such a big influence in his life

Kaiba lost the will to trust, to believe in other people the moment his family left him and Mokie on the orphanage. To add salt to the wound, all the happenings with the weapons and Gozaburo’s abuse, the inevitable truth that he couldn’t trust in anyone in the business world… Pegasus in Duelist Kingdom. All of these things left scars on him ad on his ability to trust. And then Atem came along.
Atem showed him that there’s power in union. That there’s power in trust- in belief- you just have to find the right person. Kaiba asks himself various times if he should trust Atem- and surprisingly, he does trust him various times as well. Of course, he snaps at the moment he thinks Atem is going to turn his back on him like everyone else- but Atem never does it. Even with all the fuss going on in Atem’s life, he still finds time to try and heal Kaiba from all hits life got on him. I think that meant a lot to Seto.
Everyone in the Yugi-tachi keeps hitting the same button as Atem, but not as gently and not nearly as accurately as he does. They all want Kaiba to believe in something.To believe in someone.
The answer to these demands might very well be DSOD’s credits song.
Well, it’d be weird if it was about Tea since she isn’t that of an important character in the movie xD. I don’t think the gender of the singer matters much in this context, it’s more about passing the feelings in the song to whoever listens to it. Since Kaiba is the main character and considering what happened in the last scene, we can be sure the song is about him and Atem, regardless of the genders on the lyrics! ^^
