ADSL Settings for Netgear Nighthawk
This article will provide you the complete information about the step-by-step process to configure the settings of your Netgear DSL router.
Make sure that you have the following information before configuring the Netgear modem settings.
• The first information you requires is the type of the internet Connection.
• Then you require the login details provided to you by your Internet Service Provider.
• The correct values of VPI and the VCI.
• The LCC or VC based Multiplexing method.
You can connect your computer to the any of the LAN port of the router by using the Ethernet cable once you have all the above information.
The Smart Wizard interface uses the following steps to configure the settings.
• Open the browser that you are using and type the web address http www.routerlogin.com or http www routerlogin.net in the search bar menu and then press the enter button.
• Then in the next page, enter the username as admin and password as “password”. The username and password is default and you can change them after you logged in.
• Select the Basic Settings under Setup from the left menu once the Netgear router GUI is open.
• Select No option for the question “Does your internet connection requires a login”.
• Then you have to select the type of internet connection as PPPoE or PPPoA.
• After that enter the login and the password details provided to you by your Internet Service Provider.
• Under the Intenet, IP address select the Get Dynamically from ISP. If your ISP provided you a static IP address, then select the Use Static IP and enter the information details. Generally, the option Get Dynamically From ISP is to be selected for better performance.
• Then select the Domain Name Server (DNS) Address.
• Click on the Apply to save the changes that you made.
