imagine sam heading off to school after everything is over. heaven is desperately trying to keep itself together. michael is dead. hell is working out who the heck is supposed to be in charge now. god and amara are still gone. so sam heads off to school.

he comes back to the bunker to visit his family. he’s sitting in the library with dean. dean get up to use the bathroom, leaving his laptop open on the table. sam looks over at the screen, and sees a real estate website.

when dean gets back, sam asks dean why he was looking at houses. dean had refused to try and leave the life when sam left for school, no matter how hard sam had convinced him to try again because it had been years since what happened with lisa and ben.

dean being caught off-guard because he hadn’t meant for sam to see that. sam would wait patiently for his answer, genuinely curious. and his knowing smile when dean said,

“well…cas and i were thinking of getting one.”
