Just another day in the kingdom of the Evil Queen - lonely, even with his grandmother to keep some kind of company with him, and his mother running amok, causing trouble for anyone that got in her way... While he rotted like a servant, though the housekeeper tried not to give him many things to do, and when he did have things to do, he spent his time reading books of other lands, though anything with mention of magic was forbidden thanks to his grandmother.
He didn't mind though. He'd rather have a semi absent grandmother, rather than a mother that didn't want him at all! Still, he longed for more than just an empty conversation about being proper, or the state of the kingdom under Regina's rule. Half of the time, he wasn't sure if she supported her daughter, or if she wanted to overthrow her and take the thrown for herself. Either way, he'd support his grandmother, because that was the right thing to do with family, right?
With Cora visiting his mother, it was time to go for a walk and read; most likely doing both at the same time, despite his grandmother's warnings about being proper and not looking where he was going.
Stepping onto the path, he flicked the book open to the page he had stopped at and began reciting the poetical words, trying to remember the love expressed in the words, even though he knew that the woman he'd marry would not be the woman he loved; that was the way in those days. That was how Cora had come to be with Henry, his grandfather, so why wouldn't Steven do the same?
Stepping off of the path, he expected to enter the small square, closed off to the public, which was perfect to just sit and day dream, but when he looked down, it seemed like his world was rushing past him as his precious book, seemed to rip apart, causing all of the pages to fly around him in the small cyclone, cutting off the oxygen that was vital for his survival, which meant screaming was out of the question!
His thoughts went black as his bottom collided forcefully with a hard, but warm, marble and stone floor.
Even before opening his eyes, Steven thought that it might have been Regina who summoned him, judging from the amount of magic it would take, but when he opened his eyes and his vision became crystal clear, he didn't see his mother... He saw what appeared to be one of the most beautiful women he had ever seen, but something was off about her that he couldn't put his finger on.
"Um... Stupid question, I presume, but where am I?" He questioned her, slowly sitting up, stretching as he went, which caused several loud pops to echo in the large room.
