Tommorow is gonna be different.It's gonna be the best day after today.It's going to be better.You're going to be better!...Or not. It's not like Nicky cares about those silly words.They never meant anything to Nicky.

They never did.

Everything feels like a loop for Nicky.An endless loop of boredom.He felt like he's trapped inside a giant,empty box.Nothing but the white colour and the soft cushion walls to accompy him.Sure he has a bed and a table and a chair and some toys...Can you really call a bunch of books and some silly plushies as toys? Each time Nicky's sees the said 'toy',he feels like ripping and tearing it apart.Just for the fun of it.Of course he can't do it since it's a gift from those scientists that has been working on him since the first time he was brought there.They rarely visit him anymore though.Most of the time,they viewed him through a one way window panel that were installed in Nicky's room.Totally not because Nicky has been acting strange lately.I mean...he roll around on the wall.That's all.So 'someone' in the lab got the idea to give Nicky a friend! Not the best idea...

-Today-

"Now,Aaron,you remember what I said right?'said Mr.Peterson as he walks along with his son,Aaron.He's the same age as Nicky and seem like the perfect friend for him too.Mr.Peterson has introduced Nicky to Aaron the first time they met when they were six.Of course they didn't meet face-to-face but they have seen each other.

Atleast from afar. Nicky never actually meet Aaron but Aaron have seen Nicky multiple times(Thanks to the files he secretly steals from his father's office).This is the first time he actually got to meet Nicky up close and talk to him! He's so excited he could barely contain it.When his father proposed to idea to him,Aaron was instantly overjoyed to the point he couldn't get any sleep that night.

He was practically jumping like a kangaroo to Nicky's room.I mean- having friend that's half hybrid? Who wouldn't want that! This is finally Aaron chance to be able to talk to him.To be friends with him and have some fun! Just them against the world.

Aaron has been lost in his own little world,imagining how he wanted to show all of his cool toys he brought. He has been daydreaming about that stuffs he want to talk about with Nicky and almost,bumped himself at the other scientists the whole walk there. Mr.Peterson can't help but smile softly,looking at his son enthusiasm. He hoped that Nicky is willing to be friends with Aaron and hopefully,did not try to scratch him or anything.

"Alright,Aaron.Here we are." He said as they stopped in front of a metal door with Aaron almost bumping into his father. Mr. Peterson sighed a little,looking at the metal door and his son,whose full of enthusiasm that he feels like he's about to explode,"Now listen very carefully. Nicky is a bit feisty so do be careful before approaching him. I'll be outside the entire time,alright? Let me know if you need help." Mr.Peterson look straight at Aaron face,making sure that he's fine with all of this.Aaron nodded quite fast that his head seem like it's about to flew away. He's jumping up and down like a little child,waiting for his father to open the door.

Once again,Mr.Peterson sighed and swiped his ID card against the door scanner. It beeped for a while before a slow hissing was heard and the door wide open."Now Aaron,please be careful-" Mr.Peterson was caught short by Aaron leaping inside the room. He's practically dashing inside the Nicky's room as if the room wil runs away from him.This day is getting better...Maybe?

"What the hell are you?'

"Your new friend!"

It's basically a staring competition between them too.Nicky staring at Aaron with confusion and annoyance etched clearly on his face. His eyebrows furrowed together as his look at Aaron up and down. His ears flat against his head, his tail stayed upright, his furs all tense up after that boy sudden appearance. This boy wanted to be friend with him? What is he doing? It is a death wish or what? Whatever. He does not appreciate this stranger friendliness,whether it's out of pity or genuine kindness. He wants him gone out of his room.

Aaron did not get the hints though. A wide smile etched on his face as he take a look at his soon-to-be friend. A smile people usually see when a child say their favorite toy. A smile so bright, it could blind Nicky eyes if he look at it too long. He already set a goal in his mind. This cat fella is going to be his friend one way or another.

Oh,an Mr.Peterson? He already regretted this decision.

This is going to be a catastrophe.

Sleepy:

Tired is an understatement.Nicky is exhausted.Like,literally.This poor boy has been going around back and forth in the same place over and over and over and over and over again.An endless cycle.

Wake up,breakfast,quick medical checks-up, playtime (if you counts him sitting alone in an empty room as playtime), a little exercise, lunch,nap,staring at the wall, dinner,sleep, repeat.The same mundane,boring routine.He was indeed given some 'toys' (that's how those scientists describe it) to pass the time,it didn't goes well with Nicky.He draw sometimes.He run around sometimes.Nothing helps with his boredom though.Nothing.So he ended up sitting on his bed for a while,staring at the door.For no apparent reason.

It has been like..eternity.Okay,maybe im exaggerating now.But for Nicky?It feels like that.He's been staring at the door.Waiting for the time someone would actually comes in to tell him about his behavior today's but nope! No one came in.Another hour passed by,he feels his eyelids getting heavier for no reason.He yawned,quickly covering his mouth with his hand.He feel like sleeping.But here's the thing,he can't sleep until anyone come in.But what could he do? He's getting sleepy.His well trimmed,fluffy tail (oh wow.He's getting decent grooming) has been flicking back and forth.The cat ears on his head has dropped down on the side of his head.Thats just a few signs of it.He's tired...Maybe a nap won't hurt.Maybe..With that,he closed his eyes and lay down against the bed.Yawning for the last time before drifting off to sleep.

...How unfortunate.Someone has actually been monitoring him this whole time,From the cameras installed and hidden away in his room.Ted just stares at the sight before him.The camera screen shows Nicky's sleeping peacefully.His tail wrapping his legs,his soft snores,his nose twitching from to time.He didn't have the heart to wake Nicky up though.So,he just let him be.

"Goodnight,Nick"he said before flicking off a switch,leading to a darkness in Nicky's room.The day has officially ended for Nicky.

Im still here in my room.But suprisingly it was a quiet day today.I wish it could stay like this forever.I wonder what kind of event would happen tod-

BEEP!(the door open)

There it goes..my worst nightmare.

"Good morning,Nicholas!Do you know what day is it today?"ask Ted in a cheerful voice.

"It my birthday.Ughh!Mr.Peterson,you dont have to celebrate my birthday today plus I dont like to celebrate my birthday in this lab!It weird."say Nicky.

"Do I look like I care?NO!You are going to celebrate your birthday like a proper human.I also make you a special cake.It delicious,you know?"say Ted.

"Mr Peterson,I really appreciate your efforts BUT I dont want to celebrate my birthday!I would be so happy if you forget my birthday and let today be like any other day!"yell Nicky.God,cant he understand that I dont want to celebrate my birthday?

Without saying anything,Ted grab Nicky by his leg and drag him outside his room."You.Are.Going.To celebrate your birthday!"say Ted.

Nicky doesn't say anything.It was complete silent.He just stare at Ted."You know I can walk by my own,right?You dont have to drag me like im some kind of toys to you."Nicky say.His back hurt so bad from getting drag by Ted.

"Fine.But if you try to run away...you know what will happen."

Ted Let Nicky go.But even thought he let Nicky walk by his own,he grab Nicky hand and lead him to the "Party room".He cant let Nicky run away on his special day.They arrive at the room and it seem like Nicky hate the room more than he hate Mr.Peterson.

A huge banner hanging infront of the room.'HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICKY'was written on the banner.When they enter the room, there was ballons on each corner of the room.It was animal looking ballons which make Nicky disgust.He doesn't need to celebrate his birthday like a kid.He is not 5 anymore.What make Nicky more disgusted is the Cake on the table.It was chocolate cake with red icing..A mini figure and a lot of candles is on top of the cake.There also present on the table.A lot of present.

"Is that the cake you were talking about?I like it but no thanks."Nicky look at Ted with a pleading eyes hoping for him to stop this celebration.

"Haha.Thanks for the compliment.But we worked hard for your birthday party and YOU WILL CELEBRATE IT!"say Ted while looking at Nicky.

"But i-" Nicky was interuppted when the all of the staffs in that room start singing birthday song.He wanted to run out of the room but Ted hug him tightly so he wont run away.His hell day start now.He wish it will end soon.

"Look kiddo,dont make this day hard.Just blow the candles,play minigames,open your present and take pictures with us.That it.After that,we will send the cake to your room.Do you get it?" ask Ted to Nicky with a serious look.

Nicky just nods slowly.It doesn't feel right.He doesn't celebrate his own birthday with his own will,he celebrate it because he was forced to.

"Blow the candles and make a wish,Nicholas!"say Mrs.Autumn.Ted already has the camera and ready to take picture.Nicky look at the cake with a frown on his face.Blow the candles?Make a wish?He hate those stuff.But he need to do It now because Ted look at him with a deadly look.It look like his face say " blow the candles or i will shove your face in the cake".

With a heavy breath,Nicky blow the candles but he didn't make a wish.He didn't need too.No one will know about it."So what is your wish?"ask Mrs.Autumn.He was already sweating even thought there a lot of air conditioneer in the room.He just make a random wish on that time.

"Uhhhh-ermmmm...i- i want a rainbow unicorn plushie!Yeah,a rainbow unicorn plushie."he say nervously.Nicky thought he could fool anyone with his weird wish but it seem Ted won't be fooled by that trick.

"A rainbow unicorn plushie?Alright then!Anything for the birthday boy!"Mrs.Autumn say with a cheerful voice.She is smiling all the time and Nicky hate it.It just...creepy.Next event,minigames.WHY?!

"So i just need to connect this tail to the donkey while my eyes is blindfolded?Yep,no thanks you!"It seem like Nicky is not very confident with his own ability.Ted stand beside Nicky.He look at Nicky and say something quietly.

"Play the freaking game,kiddo or else I will turn on your shock collar and im not joking about it at all."

That sentences scared Nicky.Ted just smile at Nicky scared face.He know that Nicky will do as he said that.Nicky take the tail and the blindfold."Alright!I say let the game begin!"Mrs.Autumn say.

Few hour Past since the minigame start.Nicky didn't even get to connect that tail to the donkey.Not even once.It just so hard.He let Ted take control of the games and like usually,he did it.He even smirk at Nicky like he won a championship"Ughh.I get it old man.You are amazing."say Nicky in his heart.Lastly, open the present.The last event for today.And it will be over for him.

"Open mine first!"say one of the staff there.He Hand the present to Nicky.It was a small box wrapped with pink and white paper.

"Ok."Nicky cut the box open.Slowly he lift the box lid open and there a cute mini clock inside the box.It was red coloured clock with mini heart on top of the clock." I hope you like it!"the staff say happily."I like it thank you".He cant be rude to the staff.What the point inside a lab?Nevermind."Open Mine next!"say the other staff while holding a blue box.It was large.'Oh boy,this will take Long time."he look at all of the presenton the table.It will take him a long time to open each of the presents.A few minutes past when he open the presents.There a clock,books, a blue ball,action figure,Barbie toy and other stuff.It was not a bad gifts After all and he appreciate it.After all it keep him company in his room.

"Save all the gift,kiddo.You should open mine now."that when Nicky remember that he hasnt open Ted present yet.Ted told him to open it as the last gift.When Nicky open the box,his eyes light up.It was a plushie of himself.It has cat ear,tail and even claws.The plushie was wearing his old outfit.It was so accurate just like him.He like it very much."Thank for this gift,Mr.Peterson!I LIKE IT SO MUCH!".

"Glad you like it,kiddo.It cost me much for that plushie.You better take care of it."Ted say while smiling." What are we waiting for?Let take picture and eat the cake!"Mrs.Autumn say while holding the camera.After taking the pictures,the staff send him back to his room same with his presents.He hug his plushie toy while waiting for his cake.He smile at his plushie.BEEP!The door to his room open."Here is your cake.I hope you like it."Mr.Peterson say while handing the cake to Nicky.Mr.Peterson about to leave the room when Nicky say "I need to admit it.Having birthday party is not bad.But dont do it again next year."I cant promise that it won't happen,Nicholas." Ted laugh a bit.He leave the room while Nicky continue to eat his cake.Love it or not,he will celebrate his birthday.
