lawless-beelzebub:
Beelzemon really hated to give her credit right now, but he was not about to deny a good idea when he saw one. Much as he hated degenerating, it would help to not get caught as quickly.
As an extra precaution, Beelzemon removed the chain that hung around his neck. Even in lower forms, the chain made him to easy to identify. The same could be said of the black ring around his tail, but that was a personal item that Beelzemon would never willingly part with.
After fiddling with his chain for a second longer, Beelzemon was finally ready to degenerate as well. Unlike his companion, choosing which level to degenerate to would be a little more difficult. A Blackgatomon was inconspicuous, but most of Beelzemon’s lower forms were too much of a giveaway. Impmon and anything lower was too easy to correlate with Beelzemon, and a Megadramon in these parts was sure to draw attention. Leaving only two other options.
Beelzemon decided on the form that he knew he could control and degenerated quickly.
Once the light subsided, Devidramon stretched his wings, not particularly comfortable with this form. He side-eyed Blackgatomon as she climbed down from the tree, debating about whether or not he should shove her out of it, just for good measure.
Instead, he simply ducked further into the trees, pretending to be nothing more than a mindless drone foraging for a late night meal. He kept an eye on Blackgatomon though, just in case.
Her tail swished back and forth, gazing at the silver ring around it and noticed that it had gotten a little bent out of shape. Blackgatomon removed it carefully and set to work trying to pop the dent out of it. “Such cheap metal..” She muttered to herself, “I wonder if Rainier ever got them the funds they needed to repair their village...”
Blackgatomon finished fixing her tailring and heaved a heavy sigh. This was going to be a long night, and being in this form wasn’t going to help, she had too many memories in it and even the good ones left her longing for better. For the freedom to make good memories not a rarity in her life.
