Making helmet straps today. Each one is hand made by me. From cut the webbing to sewing the vinyl and riviting the complete strap. So all materials are USA sourced, I try to buy US made materials. The webbing, vinly, thread, d-rings and rivets come from downtown Los Angels. So what I do know is the vinyl, webbing and thread are US made. The d-rings and rivets are bought form US vendors. Why you never leave your petcock on when you are not riding! !!! The bike I'm working on had a leaking petcock and dirty fuel tank. It drained about a two gallons of gas into the engine. So after the first drain to start out 5 quarts, add three quarts oil leave filter off and start engine see fresh oil out of oil filter mount. Stop enige put on filter and run. About 1 minute shut off engine drain oil and gas about 6 quarts come out. Repeat again 6 quarts again. Repeat and 6 quarts again. Repeat and drained 4 quarts come out, repeat and drained 3 quarts. I think all the gas is out of the engine. Need to get some more oil and finish this bike off. Finshed up my truck today, so I had time to work on the seat for Raven the FXRP. I finshed up the cover, I think it will work out? Need yo fix the seat pan before I can put the cover on. The seat was used with the seat hinge, so someone cut off the front tab and rear seat mount. I will do that tomorrow have to weld the tab on and rear mount is pop riveted on. When you have to take the harmonic balancer to change a water pump on your Duramax. The 1/2" to 3/4" adapter twists and doesn't hold any more, because the bolt is tighter then the hubs of hell. You weld the that junk adapter to the breaker bar!!!! When in doubt weld it!!!!
