guess who failed to post this thing which has been rotting in drafts for like. a year. (i’ve even finished voyager haha. i didn’t change anything from the actual post, and just added this intro) anyways, this is, as stated in the last kai watches trek post, mostly for me to keep track of my viewing of trek. might post a voyager one soon (or forget about it for a year lol)
i’ve been procrastinating doing this for a bit but! no matter! i can still do it even though i technically started voyager lol

so i have finished star trek: deep space nine. i didn’t expect it to be as good as it is, if i’m being honest. such a hidden gem, honestly. at first i thought to myself “well, this has potential” only for it to explode into something so, so much bigger than i could’ve imagined. hell, there were multiple episodes where i had to sit down for a moment and process what i had just watched (in a good way! like the episodes hit HARD)
anyways, overall rating: 9.8/10 // it’s the same rating it gave tng because i cannot decide which i prefer lmao
1- julian bashir and odo // at first i really get attached to bashir (i really likes him in tng because of how nice he was to data so maybe that’s why), but odo unexpectedly came to share the place of favourite with bashir. i am indecisive. but genuinely, both their character arcs were interesting to witness and i love them.
2- JADZIA DAX!! // she’s so cool. what more is there to say? (*cough* my words aren’t wording so i have to improvise)
3- elim garak // is he lying? maybe! probably! we don’t actually know! i cheered every time i saw andrew robinson mentioned in the beginning of the episode. such a fun character and an interesting one at that.
4- kira nerys // they never made her interact with ro laren because they knew they’d be too powerful if they met.
5- ezri dax and quark // woops once again to characters share a spot. concerning ezri, i didn’t expect to get that attached to her? but she was really goofy and likeable imo and mildly relatable so i guess it was inevitable. and quark oh my DAYS quark, the icon! (well, fashion-wise) he’s not really that great a person but he learns, sort of. i think i just have a thing for bartender characters, really.
honourable mention to morn!! i love morn!!
1- s5 e6 trials and tribble-ations // tribbles are a weakness for me. i love those furballs. but GOSH the editing into the episode was so good?? and the way they integrated themselves into the storyline was well done! bonus points for seeing everyone in tos uniforms
2- s5 e16 doctor bashir, i presume? // i kept feeling like there was something hidden when it came to bashir’s character and i was RIGHT. i never saw that to be the hidden thing coming though?? but that scene where he explains that he’s an augment to o’brien just broke my heart.
3- s4 e19 hard time // o’brien definitely suffered in this one. but the overall moral implications of what was done to him and how he reacted. it got dark, and that’s what i appreciate about it. as previously mentioned, this one of the episodes where i had to sit down for a bit after watching it. just so we’ll made.
4- s4 e10 our man bashir // okay i just really like bashir and his interactions with garak here were gold
5- s1 e17 the forsaken // i adore lwaxana and it was a joyful surprise to see her on ds9. i really do think that this is the episode where odo became one of my two favourites and where i really started to understand him. also i hate doctor mora i do not care that he got a redemption arc or whatever.
extra comments: i rarely ever ship poly ships (no hate on them though, they’re very cool! i just don’t personally feel anything toward them most of the time) but that entire space station is a polycule. i refuse to believe anything else.
