What do you do when you are involved in a non-fault accident?
None of us expects to be involved in a non-fault accident, so it’s not something that we prepare for. But it can happen to anyone at any time, and until it’s happened to you, you don’t know how you will react, and that can also depend on the circumstances. We would all like to think that we’d keep a clear head but an accident is one of the most stressful things that can happen to us and shock affects different people in different ways.
Think about it; one moment you’re going about your business, maybe on your way to work or a meeting, taking the kids to school or just heading for the shops, then somebody runs into the back of your car. Suddenly, your plans have gone out the window and your day is ruined. You are faced with the other driver who is also stressed and might be trying to blame you, possibly aggressively. Depending on the severity of the incident, the police may have been called and will be taking statements. What are you supposed to do?
