Does Biola accept the SAT writing score?

he average unweighted high school GPA for incoming freshmen at Biola is 3.54. The student must have at least a 920 CriticalReading / Math score on the SAT, or a Composite 19 score on the ACT.Note: The average Critical Reading / Math SAT score for incoming freshmen at Biola is 1,110.

How is sigma?

Sigma is an older dorm, but a lot of people like it. They tend to dominate nationball and have great community considering they are suites.

I'm bisexual and in a relationship with another girl. Is this something I should hide at Biola, or are most people accepting? What do I do if my roommates a homophobe?

From personal experience, I was able to come out to certain people at Biola and still be accepted despite the obvious disagreements people might have on that subject. There is a group called Biolans Equal Ground who are a part of the LGBTQIA community as well as NakID Ministries. Both are very accepting groups that I recommend getting involved with as they helped me during my time at Biola.

As far as being in a relationship, this was something I chose to hide for a while. However, towards the end of my final semester, my girlfriend’s roommate caught on to our relationship and ended up talking to their RA’s and RD. Surprisingly, it didn’t go as bad as I thought. She had to meet with RA and RD to set some boundaries and to update them on how things were a couple of times. Additionally, I had to abide by her dorm’s open hours rules just as a heterosexual couple would (which is stupid because we couldn’t even hold hands on campus, but we had to follow those rules... but I digress).

If you’re roommate is a homophobe, depending on their personality, it may or may not be hard. Like I mentioned earlier, I’ve come out to people and there will always be people who won’t agree with you. Hopefully, your roommate will acknowledge that and still choose to be loving. I recommend talking to them and explaining your side of things. Set some boundaries if you need. If you can’t work it out, there’s always the room change system that happens every semester. The worst that could probably happen is that you don’t talk to your roommate all year.

I'm an incoming trying to dorm as a triple with friends. do you suggest the triples in north, hope, horton, or hart?

Hart has great community. I am graduated so I have no idea about north but its brand new so its pretty nice and Horton is ok.. I haven’t hear too many good things about triples in Horton

Does Biola have a Cheer team?

We used to, not anymore...it's now a dance team. Or an official one, I should say. Biola's well known dance team is XOPOC, but they're just a "club".

Are wall decals permitted?

Hi :) I'm a senior in High school and I've never visited Biola University. I would like to know if they have many activities and christian concerts.

Hello Friend! We hold many different activities and traditions here at Biola including a fall concert, the Eddy (a miniature concert), Punk 'N Pie, and Mock Rock! Other events do include Nationball (Huge dodgeball tournament) and Catch Me If You Can (Huge game of freeze tag/bounty hunter). More info on these can be found at http://as.biola.edu.

With orientation week coming to a close and classes starting up, we here at Eagle Eye would like to say WELCOME to all you new students and WELCOME BACK to all you returners! What local non-denominational churches would you recommend?

Light to The Nations Christian Church is Non-denominational and is 2 minutes from Biola. Their services are Friday Nights at 7:30pm (English) and Sunday Morning at 8:00am (Bilingual Spanish and English).

Hi I've been accepted to Biola and plan on attending this fall! My major in biology and I was wondering if you could tell me what the pre-med acceptance rate is?

So sorry that we could never find this out for you! We know more people in nursing than pre-med, and apparently they are different.

I'm wanting more God in my life and I feel like I would grow in my faith a lot more being at a place that encourages my walk. Is that a good reason (in your opinion) for me to concider Biola, even if my relationship is just begining to blossom?

I think if it isn't your only reason, then it is a good reason to attend Biola. I attended Biola for that, the community, and the fact that both of my majors are basically leading in their respective major areas in the country, if not the world. Sorry this is late, but hopefully it still helps at least a little bit!

What's the community like at Biola? I really wanna be plugged in

I think if you asked any one of the 4 commuters in this group, they would tell you that your community is what you make it. If you really want to be plugged in, you have to make that effort! If you're a commuter, then doubly so. People here tend to be extremely friendly and welcoming (at least in my experience), but you still have to put yourself out there.

Just curious...How does it work with residence halls? Do you get to choose which residence hall you want to live in?

Yes/no. You fill out a form for your top 3 dorms you would like to live in and then housing sorts you and you may or may not receive your first choice of dorm.

Sort of like Harry Potter. But much less thinking involved.

What's the dress code like? Or is there no dress code? Like 2 piece swimsuits or spaghetti straps?

We have like guidelines. We expect our students (guys and girls) to dress modestly. There is no strict rules though, and you won't likely get in trouble for wearing short shorts or a tight shirt. Though I'm not certain on the rules for the pool, I know that it's okay to wear a two piece to the beach day on SOS week, though I wouldn't advise it, since you'll be playing physical games that could make wearing a two piece very difficult. But I definitely encourage you to pray about what you think modesty is, because I think the way we dress is a personal conviction and displays who you are as a person. When incoming freshman register for classes, is the registration time in Pacific Time or our current time zone?

It will be in pacific time :)

So for the dorms, do we stay there all year? Or is it per semester?

You get to stay in the same room and dorm for the full academic year (fall and spring) but you have to check for Christmas but can return in January if you want, though the spring semester doesn't begin until late January :)-Jess
