A few things about my Doraemon Actor AU:
1. The show started in 2014. The kids were between 10-12 years old. It ended with an 11th season (with Nobita deciding to move out for college) and a movie in 2025. The movies will continue, but the show wouldn't.
2. Doraemon, the 6 other Doraemons, and Dorami, are real robots created by a Japanese corporation to babysit kids, and currently all of them are openly and vehemently anti-genAI. So are the rest of the cast. They have been building these robots since the late 60s, and finally completed them in the early 2000s.
3. Nobita and Hidetoshi are Japanese-Canadians and Suneo is Japanese-Welsh.
4. They kept the names of the child cast the same, both first and last names. Only the adults have fictional names.
5. Actual bestie duos among the child cast from the beginning:
Nobita/Hidetoshi: They were classmates and best friends since they were 5. Nobita auditioned first for Hidetoshi's role but got the main character role instead. He then informed his bsf, who also decided to try for a role so they could act together. He got the part we all know.
Gian/Shizuka: They were roommates in the beginning of the show, and sort of give off Gaten Matarazzo/Finn Wolfhard friendship vibes. They love bullying each other in interviews. Nobita and Hidetoshi also love doing that.
Doraemon/Dora Kid: Amazing duo in interviews, always.
6. All of them are very politically vocal, obviously.
7. The cast faced a lot of bullying in the younger years, especially Suneo and Shizuka.
8. Suneo is an introvert irl and struggles with anxiety. Nobita faces the same but he can mask it better. Only the cast members can clock him. Nobita is also a workaholic, but recently he regrets being that.
9. They all have music careers ToT. They also have acted in a LOT of indie films and sketches.
10. Nobita is the youngest of the core 5, born in September 2004, and Gian is the eldest, born in December 2002. Shizuka and Hidetoshi are 2003 and Suneo is July 2004.
Jaiko's actress was born in 2007.
11. All the Fujioverse show actors are close to each other, and their sets were in the same neighborhood with walkable distances, so they all grew up together, which made it easier for them to have crossovers. Nobita is especially close to Eri's actress from Chinpui, and have a chaotic sibling relationship with her.
12. Doraemon and the adults were extremely protective of all the kids, and stepped in as actual guardians of them throughout their formative years.
13. In the finale of the 11th season, all of them get a graduation and Nobita and Hidetoshi get into the same college, so they decide to be roommates. Unfortunately, the other three have to move to different UNIs.
14. Hidetoshi's character gets panic attacks. The first ever one he got was in that Y2K movie (2018) from my AU, and Nobita was the first one to notice it cuz they were both trapped together and Hidetoshi had just lost a significant person he met at the beginning of the movie/prior to the movie (not decided yet).
