One Hit Too Little || Georgia & Henry
Georgia crossed her legs and sat up straight. She watched him press the cup of water to his lips and she felt it againâ that strange, yet tasteful feeling of his lips on hers. The tingle was still there and no matter how many time she licked them or bit at it, it wouldnât stop. It was simpleâ Henry took her breathe away.
The girl had almost felt embarrassed with her internal battle because presented in front of her, Henry seemed almost completely unfazed⊠Almost. When he had asked her if that was her first kiss, suddenly, Georgia wanted to hide. Sheâs told him before that sheâs never been kissed, but now that they have in their intimate little space of seclusion, the question was teasing her. Inhaling, she pressed her lips together and nodded, looking down at the carpet she had been sitting on. After he cleared his throat and continued talking, Georgiaâs heart jumped and her eyes bounced back to regain itâs contact with his.
"Really?" She asked, her cheeks quickly regaining itâs blush pink tone. Her mind began racing back to the exact phone conversation the two had about it. It was late on a Friday night, and Henry had just come back from work. He needed to completely unwind before resting his overworked body. The later the night had grown, the deeper their conversations had went. She confessed casually that sheâs never been kissed before and that she swore sheâd make it happen some day before she graduates and persisted that all she needed was a little hope.
Her hope was Henry Queen. âWhy did you want to be the first to kiss me?â Georgia scooted closer to take the cup from his hand when he was finished and stayed there, listening to him. She found it in her to smile, because their whole situation was absolutely ridiculous but she craved every minute of it. Only they could have gone through such trauma like tonight and end their escapade off with a sealed kiss.
It was without a doubt a lot quieter between the two of them, but that wasn't specifically because they kissed. They always reached a lull of the night where they were easily content with each others presence, and didn't need to fill the silence or the space on the phone line. And now, Henry's head moved back and forth to look around Georgia's room, soaking in what he realized he never spent the time to see before, smiling inanely at the pictures of her and Jackson, and ones of her standing on her father's shoulders in a pool like an acrobat when she was about six.
Henry's smile grew when his eyes met hers again and she had scooted closer to him. He lifted his shoulders, making it look like a shrug, in reality trying to ease the tension form being a stupid kind of nervous again. "Because if it was anyone elseâ" he cut his words short, not wanting to push her away by explaining the underlying competition of it all; even if there was no one Henry was competing with. "'Cause it means you'll probably never forget me. Even forty years from now when you're really old."
Something ached in Henryâother than his beaten up bodyâthat wanted Georgia sitting next to him again, but he didn't say a thing or make the slightest gesture. Instead, he released a long sigh and fell his back upon her mattress. A new type of adrenaline was running through him and he was no way tired, but like expected, her house did smell more like her, and this way it was easier to whiff it in. "You know like Phil of the Future?" he asked, "That guy. That's me. You'll be wrinkling but I'll be young forever."

A Day in the Life of Henry Queen
One Hit Too Little || Georgia & Henry
Georgia let out a small laugh and shook her head at his macho-man facade. âTell me again tomorrow that you say you can take it, when the pain finally kicks in.â After wiping the blood on Henryâs face, she couldnât help but notice how intently he had been staring at her. Being literally so close to him, she had noticed how brown his eyes actually were. She faintly smiled, liking his eyes. They were friendly, but intense and she didnât know whether to look away or not. So she didnât. Georgia hadnât noticed how close she actually was in front of Henry, and when he had begun talking and his voice going low and slowed down, Georgia bit her lip, feeling something twist in her stomach. The girl watched as his eyes averted back and forth from her eyes and to her mouth and suddenly, her words couldnât be formed in properly. âI⊠I uh⊠I wouldnât like that.â Georgia quietly trailed off, shaking her head in the slightest way and swallowed down.
She didnât know what was in her, but the closer she felt Henry lean in, the more she did as well. Feeling his soft lips on her, Georgiaâs eyes fluttered shut and a warm feeling spreading throughout her. She knew he smelled good, but if he were to feel as good as he smelled, well, Georgia must have hit the jackpot. It took her awhile to understand and feel comfortable, but instinctively, her eyes fluttered shut and she placed her hand pressed against his chest. Their lips moved slowly and as the girl pulled away to breathe, Georgia opened her eyes and stared at Henry, blank with serendipitous confusion. She had no idea how it lead to this, but Georgia couldnât say she didnât like it. Grinning softly, Georgia pursed her lips. âIâm going to go get you some water and advil.â Georgia took in one large breath and exhaled slowly before getting up and going. Biting her lip and quietly walking out of her room and down the hall, Georgia replayed the kiss in her head, finding herself smiling at the thought. Then when she fully registered what had happened, Georgia went from a smile to extreme butterflies in her stomach. Had she just kissed her best friend?
After returning shortly with a cup of water in one hand and the bottle of pain medication in the other, he was right where she left himâ on her bed. Except, this time, he didnât seem so exhausted. That gave her some sort of hope, but when she handed him her two items, they had not said anything. God, was the silence killing her. So Georgia looked out the window, re-stacked the papers on her desk and took a seat on the ground in front of Henry, trying to fill the empty sounds. When she found his brown eyes once more, he was looking at her completely differentlyâ so differently that she half laughed. âWhat?â She questioned, her face scrunching slightly.
That brief human contact, deliciously slow in time, sent sensations rushing through Henry, and he had to be reminded by her that he, too, needed to break away to breathe again. He eased back from the kiss and lifted his head. Set her back from him, a hand at her wait, steadying her. He met her wide, blinking stare, searched her eyes, his face a closed line, and then watched her leave him, unable to make her stay.
If he could describe any thoughts while Georgia was getting medicine he would, but he was feeling something completely out of this world. He drew a hand up to touch his eye which was more tender to its touch, and then lingered it down to his lips. Did he just kiss his best friend? Why? Neither of them either tried to turn the kiss into a couple pecks, as he'd expected she might and was used too. It was one real kissâperfectly nice.
Georgia came back in the room and suddenly Henry was... nervous? There was a bit of arrogance Henry wanted to have about himself like a guy was supposed to be, so he straightened his back and relaxed his shoulders, but mostly he was meek. He followed her with his eyes, contently watching. She glanced sideways at him once she settled on the floor, but caught onto his gaze when he didn't look away. Henry couldn't look away. He was locked on due to the fact that she was still going on so normally she had just, "That was,"  he began, murmuring. "Was that your first kiss?" His voice felt like it was about to crack and he cleared his throat before it embarrassed him. "I wanted to be. When you mentioned it on the phone before, I sort of wanted to be it." He pursed his lips in the slightest, then reach down with both hands and thanked her for the medicine and the glass of water.
