Misogyny is a “huge fucking deal” in ALL genres of music and entertainment, but yes, society, critics and so called “concerned activists” seem to only focus on Black men, ‘cause never mind all those white guys shitting all over women. Never forget that the entertainment, media and fashion industries are run by white/Western, wealthy males who control what gets heard on the radio, what gets seen in movie theaters or on the news, is put on display in clothing stores, etc. Yes, how convenient for society and the media to only care about misogyny when a Black hip hop artist says “b*tch” or “ho”, but never mind men like Roman Polanski, Eminem, Mel Gibson, Charlie Sheen and other misogynistic, violent and bigoted white men. To only focus on misogyny when it’s perpetuated by Black men and other MoC is not “feminist” or “pro-women’s rights” or some other disingenuous label, instead it’s just good ole fashion white-supremacy and a racist subterfuge; distract the public by decrying Black male misogyny so that the white guys can enjoy their misogynistic fun without anyone being the wiser.
