I can't get over how human Simon was. He apologised for his outbursts, even when punching the sub at one point, he repeatedly apologised for the radiation in the exact same way like he was still reeling from the shock of that information. Whenever the oxygen ticked down you can see a new wave of horror washing over him that he needs to take a second to cope with. When Ava gives him the login details he stumbles on remembering control-shift-9 never mind the password she rattled out.

They managed to present a man with a dark past and anger issues who is also not a monster. He is a human being desperate to survive and nobody even knows his name anymore. The closest thing he had to a family he resents but still obviously misses terribly as he clings to that pendant and shakes.

And Ava. Ava too. She's in an impossible situation. She doesn't want more humans to die. She has no idea how much damage radiation has done to her. This man, who she thought was a heartless killer, is begging and pleading and apologising like a child and it's getting increasingly harder to lie to him that he's going to be ok. Her screaming and begging that this is bigger than him is so achingly desperate I can still feel it, humanity is almost entirely gone. I fully believe that she hates this as well, all of it, but if she doesn't follow orders and take calculated risks then what else is there to keep her tethered and sane? What else can she cling to? They're almost entirely alone in an empty universe. She needs this hope.

okay this is going to sound insane but

play veilguard at least one time and limit yourself to only doing like 2/3 of what you can do. tell yourself you can only spend the time to max out 2-3 heroes of the veilguard. tell yourself you only have time to get 2-3 of the factions to 3 stars.

on my fourth runthrough of veilguard, the one I finished last night, I played as a warden rook, I romanced harding, I saved treviso, I got harding and taash their heroic gear, I got the wardens and antivan crows to 3 stars, and I got everyone else but the lords of fortune to 2 stars.

i played as though there were time constraints. i said 'why would elgar'nan and ghilan'nain give me time to run around doing everyone else's shit for them' and i powered through at half power.

the endgame felt so much weightier. people died left and right. the villains i didn't give the time to defeat showed up in the final battles in ways that hurt. seeing aelia stand there helping the gods. seeing johanna hezenkoss's eldritch construct in place of that venatori golem. it just hits so different.

i lost people. when it came time to step into that room and pay my respects it fucking hit me, looking at those bodies with their weapons laid out on them.

it feels so much more like the actual end of the goddamn world.

do it. just once. just do it one time. i promise you it hits in a way that actually feels like consequences for your choices in a way that a completionist run just doesn't do. take the guardrails off.

Something I adore about Tenna is like. He Does cuss. But hes weird and inherited toriels ocd so he thinks if he cusses at work or, god FORBID, in front of the kids hes the devil which leads him to censoring himself. Though actually now that I think about it, Susie also gets her more intense swears censored. So it could just be a deltarune thing and Toby avoiding the mature rating(makes sense) but bc Tenna’s a TV his swears getting censored are more noticeable to us. My point is tenna is one of the only characters who says fuck and im sick of pretending he isnt and he says it in objectively the funniest possible circumstance

you can choose to not like jax all you want- in fact, some of you are valid for it(the ones who dont act like he literally killed their family for being a bully). he's Not inherently likeable, for a narrative reason. he's the foil, the antithesis of pomni, thats kind of the point?? maybe we forgot how to handle ourselves when it comes to characters who arent good people??? stories are meant to have characters you dont like how boring would it be if everyone was so nice to each other all the time????? also this is literally a fake purple rabbit he's not real he cant hurt you please stop taking such offense to his existence good god can we all please go outside and take a breath of fresh air for a minute

anyways we dont even know jax's whole story yet either but i am so excited to find out whats going on in that dumb round head of his. if it isnt obvious by now im a jax supporter then here u go.
