he doesn’t stop when she asks him to wait. it’s not until she bodily comes between him and the door that he stops, a scowl distorting handsome features. her dress is stained with his ire, and still she insists on her miniature lecture, her foolish request. his jaw clenches as she speaks, works with the force of his distaste for this insistent girl. what about his last statements did not make it through that thick skull? he does not look for friends, or even for acquaintances. the only people he lets into his life are clients, and even they do not see beyond the polished exterior, hiding a violently broken boy beneath. CRUEL is he? alright, he can play the part she sees in him. he steps forward, dropping his cigarette and toeing it out. he’s mere inches from her, keeping her pinned to the door with his proximity. hands reach out, rest on either side of her head as he leans in. darkness glints in those too dark eyes as he watches her for a moment, a tense, ominous moment. “ they all left because they were stupid enough to think there’s good in the world. you think what i just did was cruel? you have no idea. ” their proximity turns his stomach, too close to touch for his comfort, but he presses on. “ why would i take you to lunch when i could have you for lunch? leave me the fuck alone, or i’ll be sure my uncle fires you. then i’ll have all the peace and quiet i could want. i don’t have time for decent people, or whatever the fuck you really are. ” delusional, definitely. optimistic, unfortunately. pretty, he supposes, now that his face is mere inches from hers. still, the thought of being touched sets his skin crawling.
