This has to be a thing (and if not here goes nothing):

A campaign for any mystery ttrpg, or even Call of Cthulhu set in the ‘80s or ‘90s, but all the characters are major tv detectives from the general 70s-90s era. You have J.B. Fletcher, Columbo, Magnum PI, Macgyver, Cagney & Lacey, and many many more to choose from.

Why? Nostalgia, it would be equally as fun to interact with Columbo as it would be to be JB Fletcher. (I hope MacGyver is good at improv.)

Maybe have one character per table so you don’t have like 3 Twin Peaks guys and a pack of Mulders. (Although I’m sure that particular game could get trippy.)

The prompt could be anything from the ol’ murder mystery to some kind of cosmic rift where the characters are all called forth for some mystical purpose. Or a cosmos super fan like that Futurama Star Trek episode.
