The Rippon Lea house was used extensively on Miss Fisher’s Mysteries as Aunt Pru’s house, but also played several roles in the TDBM Telemovie. Once side of the building was the instituation that housed Lucien’s cousin.

I think the ballroom was Edward’s wedding venue?

And the pool was the location of Edward’s murder.

Sadly, I couldn’t sit where Lucien’s firmly toned bum sat.

I could stand where he stole towels, however.

After seeing the front drive of the Napier House, I’m fairly certain Jean’s gardening in capri pants and heels while weeding scene wasn’t shot there, but here, the front drive of the house.

Did the world need another sun room scene gifset? Probably not, but here we are. The end of S2E10 remains my favorite scene of the whole show.

@it-is-bugs After all the S2 eps were plotted, the script team and George jumped into Stu Page’s mini-van / Mystery Machine, and took a day trip to the Rat to look at a bunch of hero locations (the Colonists, Art Gallery, Flying Club, Botanical Gardens, cinema, etc). The goal was to help the writers work to what they had, rather than writing in elements that might turn out to be unachievable. Marcia Gardener felt the painting there was perfect for what she wanted. So that’s what we used ��

Thanks for the insight, @blinkingcursor15. I appreciate that approach over the usual sort of plot 1, 2, 3 that can happen on TV shows. Now having been to Ballarat, I can really see that the show captures the spirit of the place and time.

I don’t “watch new shows.” I just make a list of all the shows that I want to watch but never do, instead rewatching old shows. Occasionally, I will spontaneously binge the entirety of a show that was NOT on the list, while saying to myself the whole time how I cannot wait to watch these other shows that I know I will love. And then I don’t watch them.

I feel real weird about this but

A friend has made a GoFundMe for our family following the horrific accident that left my sweet mama unresponsive and on a ventilator. My brother, sister, father and I have been in the hospital with her since Saturday and will continue to be while the doctors do everything they can for her.
