Something incredible might be happening with this initiative. I've been keeping up with it over the course of the year it's been up and slowly losing hope (50% of time elapsed and only 17% of signatures, etc.) but this week has gotten more signatures than the previous 11 months combined.
First to establish the rules: to get an official reply from the commission and possibly legislation, an initiative needs 1 million signatures within 1 year AND at least 7 different countries need to hit their threshold which is calculated based on population (idk how it's calculated but a little more than 1 in 1000 adult citizens of the country need to sign to hit its threshold). This is to ensure that not all the support for an initiative comes from one or very few countries.

The deadline is in 2 days as I write this and there's a MASSIVE last minute push! 415,223 signatures to go still but the last update to the website added about 360,000 all at once. I think it might still be possible after all.
With that newest update we now also have hit 7 different country thresholds (up from 3 before this spike). Shoutouts to France, Finland, Spain, Belgium, Ireland, Netherlands, and Slovenia!
Found a figure that gets updated more often! Since my last post, we gained 67,883 signatures in just shy of 8 hours. At this pace we should hit 1 million in 40 hours from now. So whether or not the initiative succeeds is going to come down to the minute of when exactly the deadline is (i dont know how to look that up, it just says May 17th)

In 2022, Tumblr settled with the New York City Commission on Human Rights over discrimination allegations involving moderation disproportionately affecting LGBTQ+ users.
The NYC Commission on Human Rights has a form for reporting discrimination. I'm sure they would love to hear that Tumblr is continuing the discriminatory behavior. They don't know what's going on unless we tell them. Administrative work like reporting these things is how we turn anger into activism. File a report if you have time. Federal Judges are appointed. This judge was a Clinton appointee until 2016. In 2014, he protected same sex marriage in Florida. Meaning reelecting a Democratic president who sucked paid off for the queer community 15 years later.
He is now a state judge which is an elected position in Florida. He attempted to protect formerly incarcerated people from having to pay back legal fees to get back the right to vote. The ruling against this voting rights abuse was overturned by a supreme court with 1/3 Trump appointees. Failing to stop Trump resulted in 1,132,493 people losing the right to vote.
In a single term, Trump appointed 28% of federal judges. That number is higher than two term president George w. Bush (who appointed 20% of currently sitting Judges)
People showing up in a red state and voting for a liberal judge meant they had a huge hand in protecting trans healthcare NOW.
For the love of God, VOTE like your trans neighbors' lives depend on it... because they do.

I am on my knees begging, begging people to remember disabled people in the LGBTQ+ community this month. Please don't leave us to die.
COVID never ended and it made many people immunocompromised. Wear a mask at Pride events (and other places too). Yes, even if it makes you uncomfy or doesn't match your outfit.
Some anti-trans laws are specifically targeting mentally disabled people, arguing that we're not capable of making decisions about our own bodies and thus should not be allowed to medically transition. Include us in discussions about trans legislation.
Disabled people already face high discrimination in work and housing, and it's worse for those who are LGBTQ+. Stand up for your disabled and LGBTQ+ peers.
Some disabled people with caretakers can't come out because the people they depend on aren't safe. Support closeted LGBTQ+ people.
The insurance companies that always find a reason not to cover gender-affirming surgery are the same ones that always find a reason not to cover medication or therapy or mobility aids. Have some solidarity with disabled people who have to fight against the same greedy pigs you do.
Make sure Pride events are accessable to mobility aid users, people with service animals or caretakers, people with sensory issues, etc. Or at the very least, be honest if they're not, so people don't waste their time going there only to discover they can't participate.
It breaks my heart seeing so-called leftists throwing their disabled siblings to the wolves. You like to say that you'd punch a Nazi, throw bricks at police cars, fight tooth and nail for the rights of LGBTQ+ people... But the moment it concerns disabled LGBTQ+ people, you drop your support like a rock. Your hypocrisy is disgusting, and it's going to kill many people in the LGBTQ+ community this Pride month unless you take a moment to realize that, whether you like it or not, some of us are disabled and we don't deserve to die for that.

So I don't know if anyone has been keeping up on this case, but I tried looking for posts on it and I've only found transphobic rants and comments. So just... spreading awareness.
There is an ongoing case in Australia currently (the hearing has concluded but the ruling has not been announced) where Roxy Tickle, a trans woman, is suing the Giggle for Girls app and its founder for $100,000, plus another $100,000. Giggle for Girls is a platform exclusively for women, and Roxy was banned from the app after joining.
The app already has a lot of problematic features on it. For example, any new user is required to submit a selfie-- a photo which is then analyzed by ai to determine whether or not the user is a woman. For Roxy, the ai wasn't the issue, however-- in fact, she used the app for several months with no problem. Instead, the owner of the app manually and purposefully overrode the ai, revoking Roxy's access to the app, because she saw her profile. She then refused to reinstate her account and blocked her.
The founder of the app, Sall Grover, has knowingly and persistently misgendered Roxy dozens of times in interviews, articles and posts. I have a chrome extension that shows if a website is queerphobic or not, and when I look up Roxy's name there are only two results not in red.
As well as this, the additional $100,000 dollars Roxy is suing for? That's because of an online campaign waged against her by Grover, who has a large platform on Twitter. Katherine Deves, who had been representing Giggle in court tried to get the case thrown out. And Grover quite literally called in evolutionary biologist Colin Wright to advocate for her case. He's giving evidence for the trial.
There is a fundraiser to "reclaim sex based rights and protections for all women and girls" created specifically for this case. It has raised over $500,000, and that number is still growing.
Anyways. I don't know if I was just the last one to know about this, but the fact that I even found out about this case was because of a post a terf made scares me.

Single sex toilets are now legally required in all new buildings, the cass review may lead to a complete shutdown of all trans healthcare, single sex wards are being introduced to HOSPITALS and claims that trans people will be treated in private rooms is almost laughable given the current bed shortages, ensuring that trans people will be forced to wait even longer for life-saving procedures. Trans teenagers are being murdered and the government does not care. We are slowly being driven out of all public spaces and all healthcare.

I'm not a man because I prefer men's deodorant, I am because I am. I'm not a woman because I like playing as girls in video games sometimes, I just think the characters are cute or interesting.
