my parents came to visit for the weekend and I have just been DEAD / not been on due to have to clean the days prior to them arriving here!!! but they’ve left and now i am just ded but anyway!!!

my finals are in less than 30 days now! which means I need to put more focus on school until they’re over. I will be making another post coming soon with a hiatus filler that will go on my blog once daily, much like I did during Spring Break when I wasn’t here. 

Once finals are over at the end of April I’ll have more time to keep an eye on this blog c: I might or might not drop any threads I’ve had prior to when I return, we’ll see. Rather, I guess I will decide if people are still interested in keeping those at the end of the month!

   {♚}   The princess smiled happily upon seeing Siegbert, It was nice to see how much her nephew had grown since she had last seen him. There was a slight quickness in her step as she trotted up to the young cavalier, her hands extended to give the boy a warm embrace.

  “Siegbert! You’ve grown so much!“ Lux practically                    sang,“You are starting to look more and more                like your father.”

         “Ah? Aunt Lux?” Siegbert stopped in his tracks as she spoke to him, and then so quickly embraced him. Most usually in the presence of Aunt Camilla or Aunt Elise was he used to this sort of doting -- perhaps he had forgotten how loving his Aunt Lux could be. 

                “A-am I? .. I still feel a large gap between he and I.”  his words fumbled, arms outreaching to return the gentle hug. “Where is all of this coming from, Aunt Lux?”

Didn’t burn a hole in the clothes… Or scrub so hard they had developed a hole… Or even trip into the mud when going to hang them up. Everything went without a hitch!

“Oh? Thank you Felicia.” A warm smile teetering his lips as he stood from his desk to take the folded pile of clothes. From what he could tell, she definitely took tender care for his clothes -- perhaps the other maids had scolded her for the few times before. “These look lovely. I’m sure it took you a lot of time to do.”

          Leon knew how hard Marx could be on his son sometimes, and judging by Siegbert’s tone, he knew it well enough himself. The mage could only offer his own encouragement to his nephew, hoping that would be a small help to the prince. 

               “Tactical books are very helpful, especially if                  you’re planning to command the troops in                   the future. You need to know where to                   place each and every one of them in the                   most advantageous positions.”

         Laying out the book in front of Siegbert, he offered the other to take a look. The tactic books had certainly helped Leon in the past, especially whenever Marx had called upon him for help with the soldier placements.

            “Hmmm..” Taking in his Uncle words with ease and interest. He made points that Siegbert couldn’t deny would be good for him to know. He might himself never be in a war in the future, and he intends to make sure of that actually ever occurring but-- should it actually ever happen, he would need to lead his army to victory.

                               “Would you mind if I borrowed one from you to read Uncle Leon?”

                    He asked as politely as he could, after all his Uncle had been the one to locate them all and it would be rude for Siegbert to just take one for his own knowledge. “I know-- I’ll lend you one of these Monarchy books in return? It might not ever come in handy but.. In case something tragic ever happened to Father, or even I, I’m sure you would make for a grand King too.”

Soleil got the impression that Siegbert was speaking more from duty and conditioning than from his heart. Which helped ease the tension just a bit.

“I am well aware it’s not simply needless bloodshed… And our bonds mean the world to me! I just… I wish there were a better way to protect each other than by hurting others.”

“I suppose I’m soft-hearted for thinking that, though. Am I wrong to believe that violence should never be more than a last resort?”

Her impression wasn’t wrong. The future King couldn’t cast away his country so easily as other’s. It was his duty to keep his people here, to persuade them from otherwise leaving.

“I see.” He commented, lamented even. He understood very well what she wished, to avoid harming other’s. But this was War, and their own lives were at stake. The enemy could care less about avoiding killing them, so why should they care for them as if comrades?

“Think of our future, Soleil. When this war is all and done, my Father will be taking the Crown and leading Nohr to a better future--and some time after that it will be my turn. I ask, as both a Prince, and your friend, to stay here and fight for our cause -- for our future. Whether violence should or shouldn’t be used as a last resort is already beside the point when in war. All we can do now is fight and aim to win. If not, all those that we have already lost would have died in vain.”

“That’s not what I meant, but I see your point…” She never agreed with this war to begin with. And it almost made her wish she was still in the Deeprealms. Almost. “It’s just… On second thought, never mind. Perhaps it’s best I hold my tongue.”

“I must have spoken too rudely.” Mumbling to himself despite his prior scolding. None of the children necessarily agreed with the war, let alone Siegbert, but it was his duty -- he had no choice given to him. “I understand your pleas, but do our bonds here in Nohr truly not matter to you? Ophelia, Ignatius, Velouria, Nina, Forrest..? Even me? This war is more than just needless bloodshed, and we are all battling to protect one another Soleil.” He could continue on pestering the subject, but now he felt he truly was being too harsh on her. ...This occurred a little too often with Soleil, didn’t it?

“..Although we may be friends Soleil, if you were to denounce your loyalties to Nohr during this war, swords would be pointed at you.” His loyalty to his birth came first and foremost, he had no choice in the words he was telling her. “Even your father would have to strike you down at my Father’s words. Lest he be sentenced to death as well.”
