I'm hero-of-prime, and welcome to my nerd blog. I'm a big nerd about a lot of things, but I'd mainly love to talk about The Legend of Zelda and Metroid! (Hence the avatar pic...and the name.) I also write some for these fandoms! I draw a bit, too, but that's more of a for fun thing.
Sharing my stuff may be slow going, but I hope you enjoy, regardless!

Current major work in progress:
A Chance For a True Peace
What if Ridley failed to kidnap the Baby Metroid? What if Samus saved it on Ceres and brought it with her to Zebes? This is an alternate telling of Super Metroid, focusing on Samus's last mission to her homeworld while she tries to protect the last Metroid, which may be the key to the galaxy's future.
Current standing: 11/? chapters published -- currently in Maridia! Chapter 11 has been uploaded!
Links to other works below!
Metroid
Her Silent Vow: Metroid Prime 4. ENDGAME SPOILERS! The story has reached its final act, but Samus refuses to accept the ending. She struggles. She fights. And she finds another way.
V For Victory (And Vengeance): Metroid Prime 2. Samus takes on the dreaded Spider Guardian, but told from U-Mos' perspective. Crack fic.
Ascension To Destruction: Metroid Prime 3. Samus is so close to getting through the G.F.S. Valhalla and ending Dark Samus's reign of terror for good. Unfortunately, she's also on the brink of total corruption.
What Comes After Zero: Metroid II. Samus kills the last Metroid, the Queen Metroid, only to find her last egg.
First Bounty: Pre-Zero Mission, pre-Samus & Joey/Metroid EX. A powerful corporation hires Samus to hunt a rampaging ex-employee, but it turns out he is far from the real problem. It was fun to give the S&J manga some love!
Reunion: Post-Fusion, pre-Dread, post-Metroid EX. Ten years after his adventures with Samus Aran, Joey Apronika tackles a mission that unknowingly sets him on a collision course with his old friend.
The Protectors: Crossover fic with Star Wars: The Clone Wars! While the Chozo elders gather with the Jedi Council on a matter of grave importance, a young Samus Aran meets a young Ahsoka Tano. Chaos ensues.
The Legend of Zelda
Ongoing series: Tales of the Kingdom: A collection of one-shots based on memories of playing Tears of the Kingdom, begun initially on its 1-year anniversary. Currently, three works are published!
The Reawakening: Just like his first adventure, Link wakes up in a cave. But this time, he remembers everything.
The Lighthouse Still Stands: Link returns to Hateno Village, worried about everything from buying clothes to whether or not the house has been sold in his absence. Imagining Zelda by his side takes the edge off.
Terror in the North: Purah and members of Lookout Landing care for a sick, wounded Link, who is either unable or unwilling to share what attacked him in Hebra.
Sign of the Century: Post-Breath of the Wild. Two years after defeating Calamity Ganon, Link pays Tarrey Town and Hudson a visit, just in time to stop a Yiga attack. Written before Tears of the Kingdom's release!
Waiting For You, With You: Skyward Sword. After sealing away Demise, Link and Zelda settle in for the night, but Link can't sleep.
If You Will Marry Me: Post-Majora's Mask. While considering the weight of his past, Link finds himself looking to the future, to his life with Malon. (Yes, it's a songfic. In my defense, I couldn't draw it!)
Linked Universe
I write for Linked Universe as well! I have a good number of fics, so here are just a few!
A Secret to Everyone, Entrusted to You: A Link Between Worlds. Unlike Link, Ravio is a coward. But, it turns out they have something in common: secrets. Written for a gift exchange! Loosely LU, in the sense that Legend went through the events of both ALBW and Link's Awakening. Angst abounds!
Hide-and-Seek: Nine Links play a game of hide-and-seek. What could possibly go wrong? Also written for a gift exchange! Humor with a side of crack.
Day on King's Mountain: The boys explore an abandoned fortress and get up to all sorts of mischief. Written for a gift exchange! Warriors-centric, slice-of-life style!
Legacy: Post-Tears of the Kingdom. When Wild discusses seeing the first queen of Hyrule, Sky has a revelation.
Ezra Duke really is Other M's Adam Malkovich done right, huh.
He's a tough soldier who cares deeply for his fellow troopers. He communicates regularly and openly. He works everyone hard, but knows the importance of taking a break and frequently checks in on them. He's a father figure, a genuinely good father figure, to Armstrong. He respects Samus and does not, in any way, order her around. He's in charge of the soldiers, but ultimately, she's the one calling the shots, and he has complete trust in her abilities.
I do find it a bit strange that Viewros's areas didn't lean into "alien"-sounding names like the rest of the series (Agon Wastes, Norfair, Ghavoran, etc.), and instead have names that are blunt descriptors (Flare Pool, Ice Belt, Great Mines), but I'm not complaining. Mostly because I like the idea that they've been very literally translated from the Lamorn language.
Like, Samus's suit obviously has no problem reading Luminoth and Chozo names, but maybe the Chozo never contacted or even knew of the Lamorn, so the translations are very basic/ on the nose.
We know Samus's athletic prowess is superhuman. Beyond is really good at showcasing this.
But it's not just when she's doing flips and the like (which are always cool to see)! It's all the little, subtler moments, like when she--
Doesn't bend or brace when she helps Tokabi to his feet.
Stays ROOTED when Sylux fires on the transport.
Again, barely flinches when Armstrong floors it while the soldiers are visibly thrown back.
And, after they crash, look who's still on her feet!
And, (mild spoilers for the final battle)--!
Sylux's attack brings everyone to their knees, but who's the only one to rise up?
Just little reminders she and her armor really are leagues above the others. All these moments highlight how much thought went into Samus's portrayal. It's never called attention to once in the entire game, but it's there, and I appreciate it so much.
Oooh, MAN, pardon my excitement, but I kinda love this?! Like, dude, your art style is so good, first of all! The lines are so clean, and the shading is just-- wow! And yeah, BIG props to your expressions, because I took one look at his eyes in the first panel and thought, "I don't like him. I don't trust him, not one bit." I LOVE looking at both his and Samus's eyes, in all four panels. They all say so much, and I especially love Samus's in the third one. They're so intense and they seem very her-- not sure how else to say it! And I just noticed Bryant's eyes have white pupils in the last one! Wow! The details! I love how unhinged he looks. You can see a whole story in just two pages, and I kind of want to know what happens in between.
I'm sure plenty of people have noticed these, but I wanted to highlight what I noticed on my playthroughs, because I thought they were cool.
(Warning: #5 has spoilers for the bonus 100% cutscene!)
#1: This little symbol in Sol Valley looks familiar!
Just an Easter egg? Probably! Very neat!
#2: At Base Camp, Tokabi can sometimes be seen making wood carvings.
Looks like he's taking the time to create things the team needs, like bowls and pots. And he even carved a wolf!
#3: Armstrong tries very hard to restrain herself.
Love this scene. She's geeking out so hard over Samus, she has to hold herself back from touching her. And...
After crashing the transport vehicle, if you check in on her, she has to stop herself again! (How very sweet of her to check on you, too!)
#4: Viewros narrowly avoided the same fate as Tallon IV, Aether, and other planets in the Prime series.
Within the Sanctum of the Guardians, Carvex's lore reveals a Leviathan once hit Viewros.
Somehow, Carvex was immune to the Phazon, but it still underwent mutation, gaining sentience and a high degree of intelligence as a result! At least the Lamorn were spared one tragedy.
[Spoilers for the secret cutscene below!]
#5: Look who's wearing some familiar armor!
Our guy Sylux, in all his old Federation glory!
How cool is it that they took something originally not supposed to be seen by players and used it to flesh out his backstory? If anything, it explains why he was wearing it in Federation Force. Has he kept it all this time?
Can I just take a moment to appreciate Anthony Higgs?
Like, not to bring up That Scene with Ridley, but...this guy. Dude was ready to throw down with the most ruthless Space Pirate in galactic history THE MOMENT Samus was incapacitated.
Absolutely no hesitation.
And I only noticed this on my last playthrough, but back in Sector 1, when she fights the Cyborg Zebesians?
He ignores Adam's orders and tries to jump in!
And that's not even mentioning him helping her out against Ridley's middle stage, or that he's one of, what, five people who actually talk to Samus in the entire game, and the only one who has genuine, positive interactions with her?
Seriously, the writers wanted to show Samus having a relationship with a guy who cares about her? It sure wasn't Adam. It was Anthony.
I don't know, I just love the fact that Samus really doesn't need someone to look out for her, but he does anyway.
