✧ To Make A Rabbit A Hare: A rabbit is not the same thing as a hare. A rabbit should never be the same thing as a hare. Despite their outward similarities, the differences between these species are too vast. But what if you were to reach inside and tweak their very being? Change their genetics, and force them into a niche they were never meant to fill? Would they adapt? Would they manage to revert to their old ways? Or would they simply die off as a failed experiment?

also, as a sloow slow disabled artist I've noticed there's not enough time for me to prepare between the announcement of the prompts and the event! would a month be enough for all?

Hello! :) I'm not sure if you're aware, but a ton of artists are dedicated to Artfight through the entirety of July, meaning they also spend June rushing to update their character references and often take the first week of August to recover. It's a pretty time-consuming event! If you want to host Mushishi Week during summer, aiming for mid-late August will probably be your best bet for the most participation---assuming that's a priority for you, ofc.

Ok, I can easily accept spoons being descended from bowls. Both are designed to Hold Liquid. Spoons are basically tiny portable bowls with a handle. But knives being related to plates??? they're no more related than sharks are to whales, which is to say their similarities are largely superficial. They fulfill such hugely different environmental niches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plates hold things. Knives cut things. Can you imagine trying to cut your food with a plate? You'd have to break the plate to expose a sharp edge, and while such a mutation isn't unheard of, it's certainly a cruel and unusual trait to emerge from the gene pool because it forces the plate to completely alter its behavior (to cut instead of hold) and go against its instincts. Broken plates are not likely to survive long in any kitchen environment, and even if one does, it would take millennia's worth of successful generations for a ceramic shard to evolve into the metal cutlery we know and use today.

I rest my case.
