Hi, it's the terminally shy dnd person again. Had a bit of a busy weekeend. Thanks for the feedback! Just wanted to say i also prefer blursed awakening items usually. Just negative curses outside of monster abilities are no fun anyway, (and so are a lot of uncursed magic items imo) so it's a good way to tempt players. But i did not know how much you'd appreciate that approach, so i kept it simple at first, focused on the core concepts.

Mind if i am taking my own go at a more elaborate version of the slugsuit when i got time again? Unless you want to try first and don't want "competition"/pressure for that or something. My personal ambition is to make one that's slightly different for all the races, though that'd be daunting.

I'll admit I may too play around with the idea (and might chuck the resultant concept on here; hell, I've even had some doodles for it!) but please don't be dissuaded from doing your own interpretations too.

Spiralling Invitation

With all this recent talk of my character Slix, I decided to doodle up a pin-up of her. As to why she's in some sort of eldritch brutalist corridor atop a rubberised cable, flanked by other slugs and many others in the rear-ground (let alone some hypnotic quirks)... I don't know. All I know is she seems to be very wanting of attention! :P Enjoy! :D

Hi, thanks for the kind words. Tried to have the item incorporate the idea of it being ambiguos; something that's basically a magic disguise one can take off, but if one picks up a cursed version, it's a corruption that can become permanent. Here it goes!

Slugsuit

Wondrous Item, uncommon (requires attunement)

This frilled bodice glistens in light, feeling strangely wet to the touch. Once attuned, you can don it as an action, whereupon it sinks into your skin and transforms your body into a hybrid of a slug and your original race. You grow a muscular tail which allows you to take the manipulate action without possessing a free hand. A thick layer of slime covers you. You gain a climb speed of 10 feet. Creatures have disadvantage on saving throws against being grappled by you. You have disadvantage on saving throws to escape a grapple as well as on charisma checks when appealing to conventional beauty standards. You can doff the suit as an action. It can not be taken off against your will.

Curse. Some of the suits are cursed, and becoming attuned to a cursed suit extends the curse to you. As long as you remain cursed, you are unwilling to doff the armor and can not speak about the nature of your transformation. When you see fresh vegetables or fruit outside of combat, you must succeed on a DC 12 wisdom saving throw or be compelled to devour it. Taking damage ends the compulsion. Whenever you devour at least 50 kilogram of food due to this compulsion, after finishing your next long rest, you regurgitate a glob of slime that congeals into another cursed slugsuit. If you remain cursed for a year and a day, the transformation becomes permanent and can only be undone by a wish.

Intriguing take! Certainly some fun ideas in there, and it's different to how I'd likely run it as an item (I'd likely have it as a phased 'awakening' item that enables more and more abilities over time at the cost of it being harder to remove/resist some of the compulsions to eventually it being part of the character). Possibly could be fun to throw in some benign/low level quirks such as "Vulnerable to fire damage" and perhaps "Advantage on checks against Poison". (I find my own players gravitate to things that provide little passive effects atop utility effects)

Hi, Inspired by how you said that Slixie alternately is a costume your Fox-girl Nixie wears or a transformation/alternate character of her, i made the Slugsuit as a 5e dnd magic item. Sometimes just a thing one can take off, sometimes a cursed item that sticks to the user and eventually transforms them for good. I didn't send it right away, because i don't know if it fits your canon too closely or steps on any toes. Plus i don't want to hit you with an dense wall of text out of the blue. But if it's a thing you are interested in, let me know and i could send it.

When I draw Nixie, it's always supposed be open to interpretation as to whether it's her just donning some costume/attire and it's-all-an-act... or as to whether it's played straight and is a new persona/character from her being corrupted/infected/assimilated/etc. And as she, as her normal self, is supposed to be a cosplayer/VFX artist; it's fun to have that level of ambiguity of her and these alter-egos she adopts/has become.

I also blame Nixie for sharing her hobby with other characters of mine...

(It's lead to me using a joking phrase in a few of my picture descriptions or tags of "That's just a costume, ... right?" XD)

Rho-26

A character shot of an anthropomorphic avian drone minion as part of some world building/character design stuff I'm doing for a side project.

Rho here is a drone more suited to recon, infiltration and scouting, and often operates from the shadows whilst completing her missions.

The pose is from a larger sketch starring various characters in my "to-do" pile, but I needed a little ice-breaker pic, so decided to extract her from the sketch and make a standalone piece.

I'll spare you all the waffle, lore and nonsense for now (or at least until I have more things to talk about regarding this project).

"Go Away Kevin!"

I bought and beat the horror game _ROUTINE_ in a single seating yesterday, and decided to share my experience with a friend by streaming it for them (they love horror in concept, but they're not able to handle the spoops when playing!).

So... based off the games plot, the nonsense I was spewing, and just because; a doodle in it's honour!

Definitely a fun horror romp!

Tagged/restricted due to, well, spoilers? I mean the game is full of imagery/fever-dreams so it's hard to say how literal some of the sections were!

Certainly not my normal wheelhouse (nor what I was intending to draw at the beginning of the week, mind you!) but I thought I would share the outcome of the doodle (so far) as I dig the pose and flat-colours. I'll spare y'all my various ramblings on this one, but I am hoping I will get round to doing actual lighting and shading for it in the next few days. (One day I will draw a normal picture of Nixie. Today, evidently, is not that day!)

D&D Considerations

I'm tempted to make a side-Blog/Tumblr for sharing some of my D&D (and other TTRPG) considerations, musings, content, ideas and such which would likely clash with my normal content/ works on here.

"When I am finished The Weave will answer to me and to me alone." I decided to doodle up my friends BBEG from the D&D campaign he's been running for the last 3 years. Ruin, a moniker this egotistical dragonborn adopted, is a misguided sorcerer who blames the Gods for the ills that befell him centuries ago. Now resurrected, he is hell-bent on weaponising arcana into a tool to challenge the deities themselves and bring them to a justice he deems fit. Naturally, our plucky heroes have been conscripted to deal with him once and for all. : P Was inspired by a mixture of Elden Ring, Metroid Prime and a few other things to give a vibe of someone who is trying to internalise all magic in the world, to the point they are becoming partially incorporeal. Background is a mix of various fractals I rendered over a decade ago and some other elements. Enjoy! :)

" Deliverance "

" Deliverance " (Cube Version) Had the itch for another Borg pic, and I guess continue / do-a-sequel-to the the series of images I've done of the same theme. Felt only apt, considering Halloween is just round the corner (and I guess the proximity of Hypnovember art month) to do something a little creepier and spooky.

Fun Fact; Originally the pic was going to be called "Last Dance" and continue the odd juxtaposition I've had with naming the pieces, and the poses between Zoe and Nixie 9 of 10 was a little more... um, cheeky... but there was a wanton urge to make it a bit more dark. And thus came the want for it to have a sense of scale and dread.

Unfortunately, I think I bit off a bit more than I could chew, and my PC really struggled with the amount of assets and size of the pic. I've done the best I could, but to paraphrase the Iron Man 2 meme; "I am limited by the technology of my time". Enjoy! :)

Have been considering doing some pieces for Hypnovember 2025... Not sure if I'll do the sketch-a-day format as that nearly burnt me out, but have been toying with concepts for perhaps some interconnected pieces.

Hnm... gotta have a think, as might require significant prep work.

Qeln

Decided my current D&D character, a half-drow artificer (artillerist subclass) called Qeln, needed a new character shot as his old one (back from level 7!) was no longer fitting for him, as he's come a long way since then. That, and the campaign is beginning to draw to a close. We are in the endgame now; he's had to confront his demons, learnt to live with grief of family lost, and the comfort of a new found family (and love interest to boot). At the moment, he's at Level 14, and about to level up (with a suspected ending to the campaign at about Level 17).

He's probably the most fun I've had with a D&D character to date, and I'll be sad when it finally concludes in that campaign. That being said, I can't be more proud of his character growth and the things I accomplished playing him. :) (Hell, I even made the DM cry!)

But I'll spare you the potential ramblings regarding him, because we'd be here all day. (Not unless people want to know about him, that is!)

So, anyhoozles; here's to you, Qeln.

This Way Up

A little vent-art doodle.

In short, since March this year it's felt like I've had to box up parts of myself and my life, much like my items had to be. And I can't "unpack myself" due to various IRL things, and won't be able to for some time.

So currently, it just feels like the happier part of me is stuck in storage, and is just sat there gathering dust with other aspects of myself.

I'll be ok. All I hope is things change soon and I can be me again rather than this facade.

I finally got some time to do arts after three months of annoyance! HUZZAH!

So have a pic that was intended to poke some fun at Easter, starring my slug gal, Slix (as, everyone seems to draw Bunny Gals for Easter, and she's my stupid counter-yet-an-hommage to that idea) :P

It's a tad cheekier than I normally go visually, but was fun to make! :)

Little Update

Hey there, followers and watchers of my stuff. I imagine some of you might have been wondering where I have been as of late... so too give an update; some rather annoying IRL stuff happened in quick succession from January; had to find a new place, had to deal with some medical stuff... work kinda went crazy... that sorta thing. Whilst the large majority of that is now over (huzzah!), I'm sort of in that horrid "regrouping" stage, and licking my wounds creatively-speaking. I've got a few doodles I've made here-n-there, but nothing major to really update with. And being honest; I'm kinda a bit dissapointed with the absence of time I had to be creative.

Such as there was an artjam-come-competition thing a fellow creative I know was hosting; and I was stoked as I going to do an animatic for it (I even wrote music, roughed up 2minute storyboard, even a storyboard cut put together!), but the time has just... gone, and the deadline is just round the corner. And that annoys me so much as I was so looking forward to submitting something to that; something I was really going to be proud of.

Feels in general like time has just slipped by, and that gnawing sense of being a "bad" or "inconsistent" artist resurfaced.

I'm hoping that as things have begun to settle into a pattern and I can start to plan my life a bit better now I can commit to some creative endevours, and get some things uploaded for all to see. Got some ideas I want to bring to fruition, but I guess we'll see what the remainder of 2025 has in mind...

"It's funny, y'know", she crooned whilst a toying smooth glove tilted the drones head slightly with a forefinger-and-thumb; her gesture trying to gauge what resistance remained with. "I have never realised how much that you are mine." After a brief satisfied exhalation, the loose guidance of the chin turned into a mild passing caress of a cheek as she looked up at the indoctrinates distant stare, closing the gap between them. "Of all of those I've pressed into my service, Lel, you are the only one truly seems to enjoy it. You are my most loyal right hand; my righteous defender, my brave soldier, and the executor of my will. Completely and utterly mine."

Still got the "drone brain rot", and so I finished that sketched up piece! Considering it was 2023 Hypnovember artjam that sort of reaffirmed a want to play around with this concept originally, and now is leading into this story/world I am building, only seems apt to give a piece fitting of it again in November!

On a side note; I really quite like how the lighting came out! :)

We'll see if I can do some more at a point soon. :D
