Having a little with depression means

Staying up at night and learning to be lenient with bedtimes because your little is too afraid of nightmares.

Your little going from happy and bouncy one minute, to quiet and distant the next.

Handling break downs at random times for seemingly no reason.

Being patient when your little breaks a self-care rule because they don’t have the motivation to take care of themselves.

Knowing what your little needs and what helps when they’re having a depressive downswing.

Recognising whether a tantrum is your little being bratty, or your little having an angry breakdown because they’re sad.

Having days where you lay in bed with your little and making sure they eat, drink enough water, and stay safe.

Coercing your little into little space so they aren’t as overwhelmed.

Reassuring your little that their depression isn’t too much to handle and that it’s okay to be angry and upset and you aren’t leaving and they’re allowed to depend on you when they feel like they can’t take care of themselves due to their mental state.

The Do's and Don'ts for Cgs, Daddies, and Mommies

Do : • Do read them bedtime stories • Do sing them songs, or sing with them • Do tuck them in every night • Do text them when you get to work so they know you’re safe • Do give them finger foods when in little space • Do wash their hair for them in the shower • Do make sure every bath has bubbles • Do make sure their teeth are brushed • Do give them cute kisses when they aren’t smiling • Do watch their favorite cartoons with them • Do pick a movie that they love when they can’t decide • Do play games with them (like Candy Land) • Do be sfw (clean) when they’re in little space • Do make sure their meds are taken • Do make sure they eat 2-3 times daily, and have veggies at least once • Do explain to them if you’re busy • Do remind them how much you love them every day ~~~~~~ Don’t : • Don’t yell at them when in little space (or out of little space. Just never yell) • Don’t call them immature for being little • Don’t make fun of cartoons or movies they like in little space • Don’t laugh at, or make fun of anything they enjoy doing in little space • Don’t leave for long periods of time without sending a text explaining why you’ll be busy • Don’t take away stuffies, pacis, blankets or comfort items of any sort as a punishment • Don’t ignore your little as a punishment • Don’t automatically assign spankings as a punishment for everything • Don’t ignore your little just because you don’t feel good (physically or emotionally) • Don’t make fun of your little’s weight • Don’t yell at your little for being little when you’re busy/tired/not in the mood • Just don’t point out any flaws whatsoever ~~~~~~ Do feel free to add onto this list!
