Hello! Bonjour, hola. I’m going to be honest, I’m horrendous at introductions. Truly. Sometimes I even forget my own name because I’m so nervous and it’s all very embarrassing. So, instead, I thought I’d design a little name tag. See? It says Kate. Oh, and then I drew a self portrait, just for fun. Do you like?
I can relate all too well. Though, I’m not quite as bubbly and precious as you are when I’m nervous. I’m just awkward, quiet and shaky. Very nice work, Kate. It’s a pleasure to meet you, I’m Colin.
While tweeting fans the other day I realized people come up with the strangest questions. One of the many asked was “one year without a cell phone or one year without sex” to which I obviously said one year without cellphone. I didn’t think twice about replying to the tweet until I got a call from my sister asking who I’m fucking. My family are all now convinced I’ve got a secret sex crazed man in my life, and not Bob. Moral of the story; always think before you say things publicly! Always. I need to come up with a fake boyfriend before Easter.
That’s such a tough question, though. I mean, it would be for me. I’m glad you were the one asked that. Your family sounds a lot like mine, so I can relate. Well, if you need more than just a good fake boyfriend story, I’m sure there are tons of men who would jump at the chance to be your fake boyfriend, let alone actual.
I want a car freshner with a picture of me on it. You’re literally living the life, dude.
I wonder if there’s a way you can customize one online somewhere.

“Long story short, Dan nearly kicked my ass. Ben came over and pulled him away, so I guess I won by default.” Jen grinned, arching her eyebrow as she stepped into the elevator. “Does the invite apply everywhere? Because normally I’m up by 7:30. You’re just going to leave your front door unlocked?” She wrapped her free hand around the railing behind her, gaze shifting down to her shoes for half a second, only to return to Colin’s face when he mentioned pushing the wrong button. “Was your plan to go to yours? I didn’t think it was a big deal.” Pushing her hand into the pocket of her light jacket, she dug around until she found the paper sleeve that held the room keys and pressed into her palm, pulling the card to her room out by her teeth before tucking the sleeve back into her jacket. “You didn’t want to do anything else today did you?” She walked into her room and kicked off her shoes, hanging her jacket on a chair before turning around to face him. Wrapping her fingers into the collar of his shirt, Jen stretched up onto her tiptoes and kissed him softly once, resting her forehead against his before kissing him again with a bit more force.

Jen shrugged with a smile. “I can read any time. I have a feeling there won’t be many more opportunities like this, just us, not having to really worry about anything. When we go back to the condos, it probably won’t be this quiet.” She laughed softly, shaking her head. “Wouldn’t you be? Just the thought of how many there are, and how intense they can get, kind of freaks me out. If all the girls that wanted you teamed up, they could have me down in seconds.” Leaning forward, she picked up her coffee cup and took a large drink, resting the bottom against her knee. “Heartbroken over losing my brother to someone like you? Nah, that would just give Ellie and me the option to runway together to some tropical place, never ending girls trip! I’m sure if you two got bored, we would probably tell you where you could find us.” She squirmed, laughing as she took a hold of his finger.
“So you let me make an ass out of myself?” She questioned, taking another sip of her coffee. “At some point, there were tequila shots happening and I remember racing Dan…” Rubbing her forehead, Jen pushed her lips out into a pout. “I didn’t wake up until noon. I wasn’t going to be rude and just let myself into your room and jump you. I don’t know how you react first thing after being woken up.” Her feet hit the floor and she downed the rest of her coffee before picking up the book and placing it back on the shelf, quickly catching up to Colin and tossing her empty cup as she intertwined their fingers.
“They best not try such thing,” Colin said, a solemn tone in his voice. “You have absolutely nothing to be freaked out about because I won’t let anything happen to you. Ever.” He knew how his fans acted over him; he’s seen things they’ve said out of jealousy about Helen, even about Jen when they were just friends. Thankfully, he’s just never seen them act out; it was all talk. Though, he never wanted any woman in his life to feel unsafe over such matters. Colin raised his eyebrow, nodding. “Well, it just so happens that as much as I do enjoy spending time with your brother, I like being with you a bit more. So, looks like there won’t be a never ending girls trip.”
“They’re your family, baby, not mine. They know you. I’m sure you’d be cautious in front of my family.” Colin chuckled at her memory, “I don’t think I witnessed that one.” His lips curved up into a smile at Jen’s pout. Colin thumbed her chin for a second, shooting her a wink. There was no reason for her to pout. They were definitely going to do it. Once in a blue moon would Colin not be able to get himself in the mood for sex. He could be on his death bed and would happily oblige. “It wouldn’t have been rude. I gave you my extra key for a reason. I don’t mind if you wake me up if you needed me or if you got lonely, horny, whatever. I’m here for ya, babe.” Colin shrugged.
He led to the elevator, pressing the up button. As soon as they stepped inside, Colin accidentally pressed the button for the floor Jen was staying on. “Guess we’re going to your room.” He smiled. Colin figured today they’d just be taking it easy before the flight back tomorrow. He was okay with that. From the moment they arrived, their schedule was booked, and Colin was more than ready to spend some one on one time with his favorite girl. The elevator came to a stop, dinging right before the doors slid open. The Irishman pulled the blonde out of the elevator, walking with her to her door. He waited for her to find the key and open it up, pushing the heavy door open for her as she walked in and he followed, letting it slowly shut behind them.

Pursing her lips, Jen stood and dropped her book behind her into her seat, taking a few exaggerated steps over to where Colin sat. She let a playfully smile fall onto her face as she looked over his shoulder, expecting him to be looking at the sports or entertainment section, but he was reading the comics. A giggle escaped her lips as she turned on her heel and perched on the arm of the chair before letting herself slid into his lap. “As if you could ever look bad.” She ran a hand through her hair, draping one arm over the back of the chair. “I take it you had fun last night? Whenever Dan wasn’t with Ellie, he was with you.” Laughed softly, Jen let her thumb brush over the back of his neck. “You get around with the whole bromance thing. How much is left for me? Or the hundreds of fans, they would be heart broken if they learned you liked spending more time with my brother.” She joked, shaking her head. “Did you get an advil? I am so hungover, I took 4 when I got up just to be safe…Though, I can think of something more, entertaining that can cure a hangover.” Jen wiggled her eyebrows slightly before leaning in and pressing a soft kiss to Colin’s lips.
Colin paid no mind to Jen as she sauntered over to him. Though, he was forced to when she slid into his lap, causing the paper to loudly crumple together. Colin tsk’d, folding the paper somewhat nicely. His arm went around her waist as he set the newspaper on the arm rest. Colin looked over at Jen. “What?” He asked in a sassy tone, a cheeky grin spread across his face. “I seriously can’t believe you chose putting your attention on me over that book. You must really like me.” Colin shook his head in disbelief. His other arm went around the front of her, meeting the other, his fingers interlacing, listening to her as she spoke. “If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you were jealous.” He grinned.
“Pfft, I think you’d be heart broken if I liked your brother more than you.” Colin poked her stomach on the you, giving her a few tickles. He nodded, “Yes I did. My hangover wasn’t too bad this morning. I told you I’d restrain on the drinking because I didn’t want to make an ass out of myself in front of your family.” Colin smiled, happily returning her kiss. He wiggled his eyebrows back. “Yeah? Well you could’ve come to me in the morning if you wanted to go the entertaining route. Nope, you chose the Advil.” He teased. Colin gently pushed Jen up, standing behind her. He grabbed his empty coffee cup and the newspaper, leading the way out of the lobby, tossing the empty cup in the trash, his freehand reaching behind him for hers. He hadn’t been this happy in awhile.

Jen took her cup of coffee and walked over to the wall full of books, running her fingers over a row of spines before plucking one from the shelf and finding a comfortable spot to read. She swallowed her advil and set her mug aside, opening the book to the first page. Her thoughts wandered to the past few days. Her family had met Colin before at small cast get togethers or the season 4 premiere party, but when she introduced him as her boyfriend, she didn’t expect the level of excitement they had showed. The last time she had mentioned him to her family, he was still married to Helen. Ellie had commented how she could see a sparkle in Jen’s eye, she said it reminded her of the the she saw in Dan when he looked at her. The blonde wasn’t all that surprised when Colin and Dan hit it off, the two had a lot of similar interests, including finding goofy ways to kind of embarrass her.
Letting out a yawn, she crossed her ankles on top of the small coffee table and held the book in one hand, mug in the other. As she started reading, she had realized the story she chosen was one she had read over 10 times, East of Eden. Within a few minutes, she was lost in the story, not noticing that a little over an hour and a half had pasted. Jen’s second cup of coffee was half way to her lips when she felt a pair of lips against her cheek, lowering the book into her lap, her gaze flickering to the side to see Colin had finally gotten out of bed. “Hi.” She replied with a smile, pulling his lips back to hers before setting her cup on the table in front of her. “Are you feeling as bad as you look?” She teased with a smirk.
Colin’s jaw dropped as he held back the laugh that wanted to escape his lips. While knowing she was only teasing, he couldn’t believe she just said that. What a way to talk to your boyfriend who has been nothing but pleasant to you. He thought to himself. “Wow, okay. Sorry, I disturbed you with my atrociousness.” Colin turned, as he dramatically stuck his nose up, as if he was going back to his room, but went up to the front desk to grab a newspaper. He walked back towards Jen, taking a seat in the chair across from her. Not paying her and one of her favorite novels any mind, Colin flipped opened the newspaper and went right to the best part. Which obviously was the Sunday cartoons.

Jennifer spent Saturday morning relaxing, she got a ride to the St. Anthony Hotel with Julia, leaving Colin the rental car so he could head over later. The bridal party lounged around in the suite, Jen and Julia took turns telling funny stories about Dan’s childhood while everyone sipped on mimosas. At around 1 in the afternoon is when they started getting ready for the 5 o’clock ceremony, Ellie’s maid of honor had hired a make-up artist to take care of the bride while everyone else did their own. Jen’s blonde locks just needed a few touch-ups, the bun she had it up in the night before folded waves into her long locks, so she ran a curling iron over any flat parts. With all the hustle and bustle of getting ready, the 4 hours flew by. Ellie went out with the photographer to take some photos and Jen followed everyone down towards the ballroom, stepping in line to the music. Catching sight of Colin as she walked down the aisle, a smile fell onto her face.
———-
The ceremony was beautiful, she was very thankful Julia had brought waterproof make-up. The reception was spent drinking, dancing, and laughing. The whole night she felt this joy that was indescribable. Spending time with her whole family, celebrating that Dan had found his princess, was the most fun she had in a while. Having Colin as her date helped, he definitely brought out the inner 16 year old party-er in her. Though she could tell by the time she was stumbling outside to the waiting Uber, Dan had more to drink than she did.
The sun crept through the curtains, causing Jen to groan. Rolling over and checking the time on her phone, she saw it was nearly noon. It made sense that she had slept in as late as she did, the reception had ended around 3 in the morning. She changed out of her pajamas and into a pair of leggings & the black Normal’s Overrated t-shirt she had gotten for the House 100th episode party, taking the stairs down to the lobby to grab a coffee so she could take some Advil.

Colin was surprised with how well this entire trip had gone. Jen’s family was as welcoming and kind as ever. They really liked him and openly agreed they he was a good match for Jen. He was horrified it would’ve gone in an entirely different direction. Towards Saturday, he really felt like he was a part of her family and he would genuinely miss them until he saw them all again. If he ever would. Daniel and Colin hit it off, from the first ten minutes spent together to throughout the wedding. In fact, the nights Jen and Colin did spend with them, usually ended with Colin and Daniel going to get drinks together.
Ellie made quite a beautiful bride, but she was no match to how gorgeous Jen looked. The side of her hair pulled back, the rest of her long blonde hair spilling in perfect waves down the left side of her chest and back, her make-up light but noticeable, made him about brain-dead. The photo she showed him of her in the dress did no justice to how wonderful it looked on her in person. His first sight of her was one of his favorite memories of the night, let alone one of his favorite memories of Jen. She took his breath right with her as she sauntered past him down the aisle. All night, he made damn sure she knew how beautiful he found her to be. He probably sounded like a broken record.
Colin was too drunk and tired to think of setting an alarm when he got back to the hotel. So when he woke up around one-thirty, he was shocked. Why hadn’t Jen come to wake him up? He did give her his extra room key, as she did him. Colin decided to go to her room to check on her, only to find no sight of her. He thought for a minute where she could be, then realized in the lobby there were two chairs, along with a huge bookcase full of books for people to read.
Taking the elevator down, he stopped by the cafe and picked himself up a coffee and some Advil for the hangover, before he headed to the lobby. His eyes immediately landed on the back of her head, and as he walked closer, she was reading a book. Colin crept up behind her, leaning down and placing a kiss to her cheek. “Good afternoon, love.” He gave a small smile, pecking her lips once she turned to look at him.
And in this moment, I swear all I want to do is ‘aw’ and pinch your cheeks, mate. Both of you wearing shirts with each others face on it; how cute! I would hope you didn’t regret it, though. If they were quality items and the air freshener smells good, then honestly you’re just helping to keep us all working, in the long run, aye? That would not go anywhere in my car, but I could hang it in the trailer restroom for good measure. Keep you close to the semi naked times.
Go for it. I’m not sure how much skin you’ll grab because I don’t really have the type of facial structure made for pinching. My mum always hated that until she realized my other cheeks were even more perfect for pinching. Yeah, yeah, aw, relationship goals. We’re great. Yes, I suppose that’s true. I am getting enjoyment out of these things. Especially Jen in that Hook shirt. Oh My God, you are not getting one, mate. Smooth, though, more like semi-shitty times.
I don’t even blame you, take in the glory of having your own air freshener now & always remember this day. I’d so just keep one to show possible grand kids in the future when you knew you made it.
I am, I promise you. Never taking this air freshener for granted. That’s exactly what I wanted to do. Use one and keep the other for keepsake purposes. Then my friend said she wanted one, so I guess I’ll have to pick up a few more for myself and some others.
I think it’s the atmosphere that the store gives off that makes me not want to step a foot into it. You should’ve bought everything, then once you walked up to the check-out, you should’ve asked the cashier if this was a way you could get a discount because that was your face on the shirt.
I understand. Hot Topic isn’t normally my type of store, but it doesn’t bother me. Spencers does, though. Every time I go in and exit, I feel like a demon latched itself onto me, and I wait for two weeks for any sign of paranormal activity. Oh God, had I did that, it would’ve been crazy expensive with or without the discount. There was so much merchandise. I was all right with paying full price. Though, I don’t agree with the whole special discount or free things for celebrities. We get paid well; we can afford these things, you know? There’s no reason for it.
No, it’s just very, very complicated.
You do not love me anymore. I understand, it’s okay.
It does in a way. But I’m glad you found something that made you smile
Thanks, love! So am I. You were great on American Horror Story, by the way.
