Great Deceivers is having a tour kick off show August 6th at Peacock with Boy Division, Thee Wilt Chamberlain and Abuse. 3 dollar donation suggested. Hook my boys up with fat stacks to go on tour with.
This is off their new 12inch split with The Pauses. It's fucking real.
whoops, sorry
I super stupid dropped the ball on this. gonna pick it up pick it up pick it up.
Khann is having their album release show tonight at Will's Pub with No Qualms, Cannabass and Abuse. 3 dollars, free keg, and you're guaranteed to have other people's sweat all over you.
No but seriously, consider going to the show. Khann is one of the best bands in Orlando, real talk.
Tomorrow, throwing another 3 song single up on the band camp called “Choking”.
ON MOTHA FUCKING PRINCES 53 BIRTHDAY. HIDDEN TRACK OHHH SNAP.
Getting the album ready for mastering this week, that’s whats up.
ghostaviaryband:
This is the final mix of a new song that will be available on a compilation through our friends at Idle and the Bear. It will also be on a three way split with Gillian Carter and My Black Girlfriend, so look out for that.
The song is called “Chelsea” it’s kind of about going out on the road with your friends and having the best time of your life. While we were leaving our friend George’s dorm at Georgia Tech, Logan stole a girl’s star from her door. Her name was Chelsea and we will never meet her.
Ghost Aviary released a new song. Check it out!
How to make your scene better:
At Shows:
Learn the songs, sing/scream/shout/yell every word.
Get physical! Move around. Feed off their energy and, in turn, have them feed off of yours. If a show is boring, someone's fucking up, and half the time, it's the crowd.
Buy whatever they're selling! People need money to keep doing what they are doing. Snag a shirt, wear it.
Everywhere else:
Spread the word! Let people know your favorite local bands exist
Talk about the shows coming up and invite people.
ok, I feel like some self-righteous douchedick, so I'm done. Feel free to add if you'd like.
Flashlights - Poking Fun RIYL: Superchunk, 90's indie rock
Flashlights aren't the same band they started out as. Their sound has grown a lot more since adding another guitarist leading to a more aggressive, giving them the kick they needed. Maybe it's just me but you can't help but get obnoxious during their sets. If you ever want to have fun singing about insecurities and nervous situations, just listen to Flashlights.

Surfin Serf- Cached Ashes
RIYL: The Dismemberment Plan, Joan of Arc Lives in Chicago, time signature changes and technical jazz groove jamz.
Byron is a mad man and Surfin Serf is his baby. Everything about Surfin Serf is methodically calculated, something I found out first when playing in the band. At the time of my involvement, practices were held at 9 in the morning, and I was one of two drummers. It wasn't in the least bit unusual to spend all of practice on one part of one song. Byron writes all the songs himself and then has some of the most talented musicians in Orlando help him out. I might be a tad bit biased, but they are awesome.

Why this blog exists:
To document local central florida shows of the DIY variety.
To introduce many of the bands that are coming up.
To get locals stoked on what we have.
To share with others.
Why the fuck not?
