Ranting about tsitp finale —just because i can— 🩷
I don't get their ending. Laurel's arc being she's having a fling with her ex husband just for it to end in one sentence, and we don't know anything else about her this season. She only speaks for Belly; she doesn't even congratulate Steven when he's about to get his job AND move. We don't get her comments on Conrad either. Like, she has no opinion on them and she doesn't even see Conrad or Belly anymore. For me, it makes no sense. It's so open-ended.
On the other hand, we have Adam, which is fine because he gets to tell Jeremiah something he'd never said before. But what about Conrad? Really? Nothing? I don't like it.
She's fine. We don't know much about her. She kinda hates Conrad, which makes it perfect for Jeremiah to love her. But she's moving, they're starting something and we don't know what's gonna happen next. So another arc is open, and I don't like it because I don't care. They make sense tho. If I was a Jeremiah enjoyer, I would have loved her for him.
I'm tired. I'm so tired. First of all, ANOTHER fight? Like, can they just be happy, please? I don't like their arc, I'm sorry. I said it before, but in my mind, when they got together in season 2, they were forever. And they should have stayed that way. For me, they were Lily and Marshall from HIMYM. It was like once they found their way into each other, they never let each other go.
And on the other hand, WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE AND BELLY HAVE NO WORDS? That's it? No call? No visit? Nothing to hint that they're BEST FRIENDS, that they communicate, and that she's happy that her best friend and Conrad are back together? It's like she picked Jeremiah out of the three of them, and the other two are gone forever. I don't understand.
I already went on about his arc with Taylor, I don't like it. But same goes for Belly AND Conrad. He doesn’t reconnect with Conrad when he’s always rooted for the boy? I don’t get it. And he has not ONCE talked to Belly since she left for Paris. They’re not siblings anymore, or what? Is Paris on another planet for him? Are Belly and Conrad gone from the Earth for everyone?
Anyway, I kind of like that he’s growing professionally and how he managed to do that with a non Cousins character. But again, why doesn't he get something from his parents about his growth?
And to think, he has one of the best arcs, and it makes sense since he's co-lead. I like it. I think his ending makes sense. He finally found himself. He loves his job. He's growing out of Belly. I genuinely like it. And I'm so happy he found Denise, because she just fits with him. They make such a good couple.
So yeah, if I was a Jeremiah enjoyer, I would really LOVE the way he ended. And I wouldn't want Belly back as a girlfriend in his life, because he did SO well without her.
Okay. Here we go. We got a hint that he talked to Jere, but… really? Just a hint? Idk, weird.
On the other hand, with Belly. GOD, their flirting side. It was everything to me. And Dress was everything to me. And the parallels. Like, all the night in Paris was just perfect. I loved it.
But there we go again, we got another moment of Belly being indecisive when they assure she's not —c'mon, she is. Like, it's okay, but it somehow annoys me, I'm sorry, Jenny Han. They found each other. And she got cold feet three seconds later? I get it, the moment of she running after Conrad is everything, but it still annoyed me the first time I saw it.
Again, no words for him from Agnes. What happened to his job? Is he still a doctor? Did he make it to the conference? Idk, tell me. I need to know, you know? What are everyone back at home’s thoughts on them? Are they happy for them? Do they still check in on them? TELL ME, Jenny Han. Please.
So I get it. She chooses herself. And guess what? Herself is in love with Conrad, so that means she chooses to trust herself and give Conrad another chance. I love that. I love that ending.
But does she remember she had a life before Paris? Does she remember she has a mom? Does she remember she has a best friend back at home? Does she even care anymore about her own brother? We don’t know. As far as we are concerned, she didn’t talk to Steven for a whole year. We don’t even know if she finished college, what about her jobs? Give us a break.
She doesn’t even go and see Conrad’s life. Did she meet Agnes? Does Conrad care about his own life back at California? Or does he just not care either? I’m confused. Give us the details. Give us something else, Jenny Han.
