Years of witnessing patients suffer in silence and delay treatment due to hesitation and stigma inspired Dr. Ashwin Porwal and Dr. Snehal Porwal to extend specialised anorectal healthcare beyond clinic walls and directly into communities.
Carrying this vision forward, Healing Hands Foundation, in collaboration with Don Bosco Suraksha Migrant Desk, Koregaon Park, organised a free health awareness and consultation camp at Ganesh Mandir, Shinde Vasti, Industrial Area, Pune.
The camp focused on conditions such as #Piles, #Fissure, #Fistula, #ChronicConstipation, #PilonidalSinus, along with #Hernia and #VaricoseVeins—conditions that are common, yet often neglected due to lack of awareness and social stigma.
A total of 31 individuals benefitted from free consultations, counselling, and medical guidance, taking an important step towards early diagnosis and timely treatment.
The consultations were led by Dr. Ashwini Pargewar, supported by the Healing Hands Foundation team comprising Anita Said, Sheetal Bhosale, and Anand Misal, who ensured smooth coordination and patient support throughout the camp.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Don Bosco Suraksha Migrant Desk team, especially Mona More and Sagar Nikalje, along with ASHA Worker Lata Hole, for their dedicated community outreach and invaluable support in making this initiative possible.
With the continued guidance of Mrs. Madhura Bhate (NGO Coordinator) and Dr. Nilesh Ahirrao (Program Manager), Healing Hands Foundation remains committed to expanding awareness, promoting early diagnosis, and ensuring that specialised healthcare reaches every section of society.
Because healing begins when silence is replaced with awareness. 🌿
