[Transcript] Hello! I'm here to give you a quick update: Double Hearted will be on indefinite hiatus.

This past month it's become clear that I'm a bit burned out. Working on 13 chapters of over 20 pages each last year has been incredibly demanding, and I haven't felt satisfied with my work on the last few chapters. Right now, I feel the only way I can continue this project is to take a break to reconnect with the characters, their motivations, and the story.

This is not a cancelation, just a break. I deeply love this story and want to give it the proper care it deserves. I'll still be working on the comic and extra artwork, so the Ko-fi will continue. I'd also like to do streams working on art or just hanging out. However, there won't be a release date of newer chapter until further notice.

Thank you so much for your continued support and patience.

Hermitcraft Dispatch AU Pt. 1

Ok so I just finished playing Dispatch and I freaking LOVED it! Sooooo I thought it would be fun to combine my two current hyperfixations and make a Hermitcraft Dispatch AU!

Quick overview for those who have never played Dispatch:

In this AU Impulse works as a superhero dispatcher, someone who analyzes a team’s strengths and weaknesses and answers distress calls by the sending the hero most suited to the job. However, he’s been assigned to the Hermit Program, a team of former villains trying to become heroes. To say the least, it’s like trying to herd cats and the office and comm lines are always in chaos when the Hermits show up to work.

Okay, we've all seen the 'Louis is actually alive' AUs, love em to death, All the ones I've seen put his return from the grave somewhere pre-episode 8, usually earlier in the series.

I'm thinking about the reveal that Louis is alive being during Owen's cure/die choice at the end of episode 8:

He chooses to die, and then...

Cure failed. Sire is alive (or some bullshit like that idk)

The ohshitohfuckwhathaveIdone hits him. Maybe he rushes to the place he buried his beloved, his Louis. Maybe he digs up that grave.

And maybe Louis is only barely conscious, or even still in the stage of healing where he can't wake up, still burnt to the point of unrecognizability.

Does Owen finally actually accept what he already knew: that Louis would be horrified by what's been done in his name? Does he regret any of it?

If Louis is healed enough to come out of sleep, what does he say? What can he say to the man who is no longer the one he fell in love with?

Does a now vampire Legundo, scared and angry and suicidal and maybe even out for Owen's blood come across him again? Does he still commit his noble suicide sacrifice? Owen wouldn't leave Louis' side to stop it.

Does Pyro survive?

I like the highly devotional dynamic of a crossfangs butler au but like. Only with the caveat of them being the other’s absolute worst nightmare if they ever betrayed one another. Like yes, Abolish is the loyal and professional servant, but if he were ever left for dead he would destroy Scott in the most coolly brutal way he could. And while Scott offers power and respect to his favoured servant, if he ever betrayed him there is no torture existing that could satisfy the weight of that crime.

Like. Yes, freak levels of devotion, but not unconditional. They can and would destroy each other if they left the careful dance they’re in.

Also like, making Abolish just as powerful and influential as Scott but in a different way. Like. Sure they have a power imbalance of authority figure and servant, vampire and human, but also Abolish as the keeper of all of Scott’s secrets. He knows everything Scott has to loose and how to get to it. He is the only one with the aptitude to potentially kill Scott. They’re both under each other’s thumb. They’re the only thing the other cares about and fears. Make them both fucked up. I think it’s very vital to the dynamic.

...how much damage did Apo do to "the count"?

She managed to get in a couple good hits before she went down.

Some heavy hits to the side of the head, affecting his right ear, eye, and cheek. Dents and scratches just about all over plus some metal dislodged from the chest piece. She managed to even temporarily disable the use of one of his arms.

It was nothing that couldn’t be fixed by the new night guard once they got started though! Probably no permanent damage.
