"No way? Katara, is that you?" Sokka asks, seeing his sister. He had been so confused and lost since arriving in DC a few months ago, and he was hoping to run into someone he knew. Thankfully, the first person happened to be his sister.

"That would be great, thank you." Valarr replies, smiling slightly -- trying not to seem too excited at the opportunity. When really, he was ecstatic at the idea of working with Matt. "You are certainly right about that. I do not come from this world, so I have been doing a lot of research. I am trying to make the right decisions when it comes to building a solid career in law," He shrugs. "It is difficult, for me anyways. Seeing as before I wound up here, I was in the year 209 AC."
Matthew had to admit that he liked seeing how many people were excited about law and wanted to get into the field. Even if they come from a different time period. "Well, that's alright. We'll just have to make sure you are well-versed with the laws of this century and, of course, with DC. Which you mentioned you were doing with the research. Are you taking any law courses? There are several levels to becoming a lawyer, and I'll be happy to help you with every step."
Anthony felt like a complete idiot for asking a blind person for directions. In his defense, the man had sunglasses on. "Yes, I can do that." Anthony was still learning how to use a cell phone, but had gotten pretty good at it. In fact, it made his life so much easier. "Thank you."
"No problem," Mathew replied as the phone repeated the address, and Matthew smiled. "Well, if luck would have it, that's not too far from my law firm that I'm headed to, so I could walk with you if you'd like."
"It was very relaxing, and very beautiful. Fields and country for miles." Kathryn agreed with a nostalgic smile. Something about being stuck in this place made her miss her home a little more than usual. "That's a neighborhood in New York City, right?"
"Closing my eyes, I could almost picture it." Matthew hummed. "If we ever leave DC, I might look for a place like that. I think it would be a very nice place to retire in." He admitted. "Yes, it is. A very dangerous place to live, most people get out of the city."
"yeah, you have an amazing voice, really. oh i guess that helps then having to sing back home." sophie smiled nodding her head. "oh no no, i leave the singing to my ex girlfriend, she has the voice, i'm more of the supporting character off to the side."
"There wasn't much to do sadly, it was either sing or dance, which I loved going to the dance hall with my brother and his girlfriend." Maria smiled a bit. "Really? That's just fine too, you always need to support the fellow musicians too."
"hey that's good, gives you a day to rest and relax after working." yeri hadn't had to worry about a job until now, she was looking at places she could work and soon would understand the whole working and getting to have the day off the next day. "perfect! so i'm stealing you away for dinner then, i'll apologize to your boyfriend later."
"Yes, it does. Thankfully, my job is a lot better than the one I had back home, but you still just want a day to yourself." Maria admitted. "Awesome. Where should we get dinner at? I'm sure he'd be happy I was making a friend. I'm not really good at it. Back in the day, it was because my accent was too thick."
"I've tried to search on the internet but it doesn't seem like it. And I'm kinda busy but I'll definitely check the police station. Though I know that sometimes people don't appear here too" Sally says with a frustrated sigh.
"Yeah, I've been told it's like a lottery," maria admitted with a slight shrug. "There you go. I guess the downfall is if they don't remember you, they might not think to look for you or anyone from home."
"I know what you mean." Citlalli replied with a nod. "My abuela was a seamstress too, when she first came to America. We're from Mexico. Where is your family from?"
"No way? That's amazing. Although, honestly, I get that. If I weren't taken from the time I was in, I'd probably be very old right now. If she were in New York, we could have worked together." Maria smiled. "Mexico? I've never been. How is it? I'm from Puerto Rico, way before it was part of the United States.."

ever since arriving here; eleven had been suffering with splitting headaches. she couldn't help but wonder if it was linked to her dwindling powers or almost lack of them. el let out a small groan as she pushed the heel of her palm against her eye. her free hand flexed into a fist a couple of times before she exhaled slowly. when she opened her eyes once more; she noticed someone looking at her. “hello. sorry. did you say something? i… my head hurts.” she muttered before clearing her throat. “could you say that again? please?” she was making an effort to put herself out there more, even if she was petrified that she would wind up getting hurt.
"I was just askin' if you were alright." Mickey replied, stepping outside of the bar he was working in for a break. He was about to pull out a cigarette, but when he noticed the other, he thought he'd be nice. A rare occasion for Mickey, but it could be done. "Depending on how old you are, I gotta cure for a headache. One of the best cures, and it can be kinda fun."
Mark hadn't expected something to happen this early in his shift. However, as he races toward the scene of the accident (which just so happened to be in the vicinity of the nearest hospital), all he can think about is getting there on time. As he runs, his mind surveys the scene. Seemingly one person down, another standing above them, but the expression on their face is unreadable. He skids to a stop, remembering the ABCs of CPR. Airway, breath, circulation. Airway doesn't seem compromised, breaths are shallow and heavy, circulation seems good... but he won't know until he does a full exam. "What happened? Did he collapse?" he asks the person.
"Fucking idiot started choking on an olive, I guess? I don't know, we were trying to help him, but he wouldn't let anyone touch him. He also is drunk off his ass and tried to take the glass with him, since we cut him off, which is why he is outside, on the ground." Mickey explained.
"kids just run up to another kid on the playground, and bam, best friends." jules spoke "but here i am, working eighty hour weeks, meeting strangers at the bar instead of going home to sleep" she added "jules."
Chishiya chuckled, giving a soft nod. "Right? No nervousness, no worries, they will find you weird, just laughing and swinging." He hummed. "it's nice to meet you, Jules. Same, actually. I just got off my revolving shift, 12 in and out, with like three hours of sleep in between and here I am, at a bar."
" hey, we all have our moments, " cassie shrugs, not wanting the other to feel bad, especially since he's clearly apologetic. she's not here to hold grudges - or at the very least, she's trying not to. " cassie blake, " she introduces, before inquiring, " you have a rough day or something ? "
"I appreciate that, I know I'm an asshole on most occasions but I try not to be towards strangers, at least to the ones who haven't pissed me off," Dean admitted with a soft smile. "It's nice to meet you, Cassie. Yeah, it's been a bad one. it's like everything in the universe is telling me to stay at home."
"It feels like a one year special event. Maybe it's their celebratory event every year" Jihyo says. "Yeah, I'm the living proof of it. I guess it's how DC works."
"I don't know if it's much to celebrate since we seem to keep dying during these events, but I get what you mean." Derek hummed. "I feel like they think we're getting too comfortable and decide to fuck us over."
"maybe try a plane or driving there if it's not too far away?" elena suggested, her shoulders lifting in a slight shrug. "or hitchhike? there are a few options if you want to get back to wherever you came form."
Damon didn't know how to explain to the others that he couldn't really leave the city. It was like something in the back of his brain was telling him no. He was also nervous, considering the last time Mystic Falls lost it's magic, he couldn't go in without dying. "I will look into the flights. I mostly meant the funds... Virginia isn't close by."
