Ice Fishing Hut XVIII by Sandra Herber Via Flickr: This is the last image in the series of ice fishing huts I submitted for the Sony World Photography Awards. I loved this hut from the minute I spotted it from a distance - the quirky shape, the wonderful fish design (there four of them, actually, one on each side) and the lovely reflection of the hut in the ice. I submitted the series back in January, and only recently have had time to look through the remaining images from that trip in December. I'm happy to have found quite a few more fishing huts I like so there will be more huts to post, if you will indulge me. Lake Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. This is the sixth image in a series of images I shot in Manitoba in December, 2019 which is a finalist in the Architecture category of the Sony World Photography Awards. The Awards ceremony and the exhibition have been cancelled, but winners will be announced on June 9. SWAPA has strict entry rules outlining when images can be shot and if they are published (publishing includes showing images on social media). As I shot these in December and had to submit them in mid-January I didn’t have a chance to show them online, so they were submitted as ‘unpublished’. I have received permission now to publish them on my website and on social media, so here you go. I wrote a short blog post about this trip to Manitoba (and North Dakota) to photograph these ice fishing huts in December, 2019. If you'd like, take a look at the the rest of the images in this ice fishing hut series. Website | Blog | Instagram
