he comes at turning points-
where everything still looks ordinary,
and nothing is. like a line of verse snapping mid-meaning,
like breath caught before it becomes confession.
not loud, not merciful;
not cruel in any simple way-
just already there,
as if reality adjusted around him
before it remembered to explain why.
❝ tell me…
what have you been starving on purpose? ❞
he is named what he is needed to be in order to be survived- Angel, Devil, Omen, Mistake- less description than defense, less truth than something to hold onto when certainty won’t hold. none of it fits. it never does. but all of it sticks anyway. CAEL ROWAN. late twenties- if time even applies cleanly where he exists. he shows up like weather that thinks. NY at 3;13 a.m., neon splitting into rain, London where every reflection looks borrowed, Berlin where history doesn’t leave— it watches. nothing announces him, the air just changes its mind. not arrival, interference. he doesn’t stay, he doesn’t settle; he passes through thresholds— half-open doors, empty platforms, dim corridors- places that feel briefly inhabited by something that refuses to be seen clearly. he doesn’t ask questions for answers. he asks questions that expose what you’ve been avoiding. and whatever answers come… arrive after he’s already gone. be careful, some doors don’t close- they remember you.
