Hello!
How are you guys holding up? I'm in the last leg of releasing a book, so I'm going MIA for a while. Hope you're enjoying the summer there in the upper hemisphere. I know how things are going in the Hiddles fandom at the moment. I hope that in the end of all things...if you remember how short life is, and how many horrors have just happened earlier, love is always a good thing. Let your emotions out and let them cool down, whatever it is. I just realized that too, so thought I'be sharing here. Take good care of yourself, guys! Till later. ~R
The rain fell slow, down on all the roof of uncertainty. I thought of you and the years and all the sadness fell away from me. And did you know... I never thought that you'd lose that light in your eyes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2V0s5PbxUk
Harambe's gone. You can help his friends in the wild here by helping the conservation work of the foundation.
“It is so important for us to show a new generation that a career in the creative arts, in film, is possible and valuable. It’s important for us to show a new generation that the British film industry can provide huge opportunities for fulfilment and growth. It can help build a sense of community and cultural identity. Film-making is an art, a craft, and it’s also a real job.” -Tom Hiddleston [on launching the British Film Institute mission, http://www.standard.co.uk/goingout/film/tom-hiddleston-and-idris-elba-launch-mission-to-build-130m-home-for-british-film-on-south-bank-a3256486.html]
"He auditioned with a clarity of purpose and a drive... not arrogance, and not over-ambition, but he was just very clear - I felt like I was watching that process happen before my very eyes. And now I watch The Night Manager, almost 10 years on from that moment in the Donmar, and there is a star, now fully emerged." -Sir Kenneth Branagh on Tom Hiddleson [http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/news/a794870/tom-hiddleston-was-so-effortlessly-charming-kenneth-branagh-remembers-discovering-a-star/] 20 May 2016

Well…this has been on BBC and for a moment I was anxious that Tom has gotten the role.
“Here's what I’ll say. I believe that nothing is certain and fixed, so you have to make the best efforts to treasure things, and not fall into the trap of letting things be destroyed. Because they can be.” -Tom Hiddleston ["Ready For Action" interview by http://tomhiddleston.esquire.co.uk , June 2016 issue/Published online 3 May 2016]
"There's a disconnect between who I am and who people expect me to be because of my background. And I feel compelled to be rebellious and go against that." -Tom Hiddleston From "How Tom Hiddleston Makes Psycho Sexy", 19 April 2016. http://www.rollingstone.com/movies/features/how-tom-hiddleston-makes-psycho-sexy-20160419#ixzz47EIi2eyH [exhibit A: Jackyll/Hyde or The inner Hannibal shining through].
“I think [representation is] something that people need to see,” he emphasized. “That there’s a benefit to voices not just of women, but people of color and people that are typically not as well-represented.”
To conclude the evening, when asked about what advice he’d like to leave the young filmmakers with as they move forward in their own careers, he noted a special time very early in his career when he worked with the legendary Mike Nichols in his early twenties. “He taught me that my voice was as important as anyone’s. Not to say that I know any better. It’s critical that you don’t walk around thinking that, but to know that your voice matters. That, to me, is a really important thing to keep with you.”
[His quote resonates with Tom’s most celebrated quote here http://hiddleswords.tumblr.com/post/23982622645/never-stop-never-stop-fighting-never-stop (“Never stop…If you’ve got something to say, say it from the rooftops.”)
Seems legit.
“There’s interesting complexity at the heart of le Carré’s writing which is an investigation into the cultural identity of Englishness. I think le Carré was furious with a man like Richard Roper because he was born with many blessings. He’s been given the most beautiful life and is an inheritor of incredible privileges of being a British citizen – education, clean water, democracy – and he’s used those privileges to do the worst things imaginable, which is deeply cynical. I think le Carré feels that’s a betrayal of an Englishman’s sense of duty. It’s actually very old school, and it’s a point of honor – it’s a very unfashionable word these days – and what Roper does is dishonorable in le Carré eyes. That’s why Pine has to take him down.” -Tom Hiddleston [on The Night Manager, Tribeca Film Festival, 23 April 2016].
