Last year, a photo zine I made was exhibited as part of National Zine Day, in an exhibition hosted by YourLocalNewsStand.
Whenever people asked what it was about, I'd always say the same thing:
"These are photos I took when I felt like I was the happiest person in the room."
What I never mentioned was that almost every photo was taken during photowalks with someone I cared and felt deeply about.
The zine wasn't really about the places. It was a love letter disguised as photographs, when being around her felt lighter and when everything seemed a little brighter.
That's why I called it It Ain't Always This Sunny.
Because it isn't. But with her, it felt like it was. ig: @okeybutdan
