#HIDROGENIUM ― 𝐋𝐎𝐖 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐓𝐘 Independent & selective Henry Jekyll & Mr. Hyde from '𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄 𝐂𝐀𝐒𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐃𝐑. 𝐉𝐄𝐊𝐘𝐋𝐋 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐌𝐑. 𝐇𝐘𝐃𝐄' feat. his fate rendition. Written by Smol (+18;she/her). Triggering content ahead. For my own comfort, please do not follow if you are under 18. Rules under read more ! / Important ! : my portrayal will be based on him following my interpretation of his character based on both a mixture of his characterization from the original book + his status as a summonable servant (set on FGO) + bits of historical facts | Rules and muses under read more !
SELECTIVE & MUTUALS only.
General dni critera applies here
this is a TEST blog, meaning that I am currently testing this muse
VERY HIGHLY SPORADIC ACTIVITY. My attention wanders all over the place so this blog will remain as low acitvity, If this isn´t ur cup of tea then I would advice to consider again following.
I am not an expert historian so I (politely) ask u to pls understand if in any case I happen to make a mistake, it´s due to that (*꒦ິㅂ꒦ີ)
mun & muse are both +18 (mun is 22 currently!)
Not affiliated with the Fate fandom.
Duplicates & crossover friendly !!
If you are not aware of F.ate as a franchise or the game F.go pls do not feel scared of interacting! there is no need to have prior knowledge about the universe where my muse comes from and if you have any questions i’m always happy to answer !
Alongside this post, please do not assume or dictate me how to write my own muse, this has happened before and it makes me very uncomfortable (*꒦ິㅂ꒦ີ)
Due to his character, this blog will remain as Fewship & very HIGHLY selective. I´m more inclined to ship with friends / people i know / people I can click OOC wise more, yet if you are interested in developing something between our muses, be it platonic or romantic, I am certainly not against that if the chemistry is present ! Aside this, i will not ship with underaged muses nor with underaged muns.
muse does not equal mun & I do not condone my muse´s actions.
the fact that hyde is short because jekyll didnt let him grow. that hyde is rail-thin and underdeveloped because jekyll never fed him. that hyde is unhealthily pale because jekyll never allowed for him to see the light.
jekyll spent all of his life shunning a side of himself that had he let it develop naturally would have become fully part of him. but he didn't because as an upper class man without a nobility background, it's his reputation what keeps him at the top.
what happens when you lock a part of yourself up, forever in darkness?
the darkness won't let you see how ugly it has gotten.
hyde is an entire lifetime's worth of all the evil jekyll could have gotten away with. the desires he has to keep locked. all the things he's done and later recalled in shame, like a vicious circle. hyde is this vicious circle, once again, only this time jekyll doesnt need to cover up after himself, because who could ever trace a straight line from the gentleman scientist to the monstrous gentleman?
and so, precisely because jekyll wants to live this contradictory life, he suffers a contratictory fate. he gets further and further away from humanity, but at the same time, he comes to embody that humanity in the most twisted ways. so, then, is hyde more or less human than he ever was?
does it matter? hyde is jekyll, anyway.
no wonder he was so hungry; he had been starving himself.
“I don’t think you have any idea how happy that makes me to hear, Henry. You’re much too kind.” The Assassin’s . . . 'outburst' was unexpected certainly — but if he were anything, Cú Chulainn was a man who could roll with the punches and adapt! Intimidation? Unneeded as the other already seemed so convinced. Just skip that step — Is this guy ok? No, no, throw that thought out, we’re busy —
“Let’s see ~ “ In a fluid motion, he rises from the adjacent chair, leaning forward . . . closer and closer . . . hands making contact with the desk in resounding S L A P that demands his audience of one’s attention. His expression remains the perfect painted image of an angel even as his eyes are cast down at the doctor in stark contrast to moment’s before. “I certainly think it should be . . . but if I’m mistaken you'll forgive me, won't you? I don’t mean to ask too much of a friend.”
“Henry.” Cú softly sings, not at all unaware of the reaction the name garnered. Closer and closer . . . papers scattering as he just about sits and rests himself atop that very desk. “Would you help me look for something? ~ ”
Toc . Toc . Toc . like the sound of an old cuckoo clock checking by each second senselessly yet certainly, the doctor's chest knocks from the inside . There was almost a divine aura to him, like an angel appearing in a dream, the kind that never returned, only to leave the memory of something beautiful ; for a moment, caster felt like a painting moving in front of him, the kind that were enchanting and that left one thinking to themselves about them for some time afterwards. it was the way in which his hair fell gently against his shoulders, just like a cascade, like some sort of translucent yet brilliant veil that left Jekyll's gaze bewitched despite his own timidness and unable to pull away to search for anything to distract himself with.
He was temptation disguised under a soft comforting sound. Under these thoughts, he was truly beautiful to him; in an enchanting yet paralyzing manner, like an alluring poisonous flower, such was the case that the doctor had to hold his breathing for a second, almost as if worrying that if he left a single shaky breath slip past his lips, the other would be able to sniff like a wolf all of these thoughts that were occurring inside his head. 'Much too kind.' ❝ It━ it is nothing like that, I... I-I am merely doing my job-❞ and the last word suddenly feels wrong as he speaks in a quiet yet ashamed tone of voice, rejecting immediately such a noble notion the other had of him before glancing down in a poor attempt to try to search for an excuse to distract his gaze from the other's consuming yet addicting one. But why did it seem like he was getting closer? why was Henry himself feeling so paralyzed? shameful over the amount of time it took for him to regain his senses, the doctor quickly gets up from his seat as he takes his diary, hurriedly taking a few nervous steps away from his desk and from the man who was so comfortably sitting over it and who claimed to be his friend.
❝ I feel honored you are reaching to me for assistance, h-however ❞ He clumsily stumbles over his own words as he spares down a glance at his diary and the amount of scribbled annotations of things he needed to do. ❝ Have you notified the secretary for a meeting? Then again... ❞ Fixing his already properly positioned glasses, he then spares one more quick glance behind his back before returning it to the yellowed pages of his book. ❝ If it is urgent- Ah.. M-maybe I could see of squeezing a place- For a friend ❞
Im going insane over the fact that the reason Hyde becomes more separate from Jekyll and develops into an extraneous entity is that Jekyll wanted to envision him as such. The moment he decides Hyde is no longer him, that’s what he becomes, at least from his perspective, because Hyde can only be defined by the roles Jekyll gives him… and when Jekyll deepens the wedge between both identities, Hyde reacts accordingly by resenting his other self (his true self? his original self?) and rejecting it wholesale if only out of spite… I’m going insane.
