Man it would've been both neat and fucked up if we got to see more of the inside of Hannibal's head and learned that he had dreams about Will killing him in all sorts of ways, each more inventive than the last. And that's what he meant when he told Alana he was having nightmares after Matthew Brown tried to kill him - it wouldn't be a lie, most people would call that kind of dream a nightmare. He doesn't think of them as nightmares, though. He also never used to dream about anything like that.

It's an intriguing thing, to dream of himself in the position of victim. To be the one sliced apart and fed upon rather than the one doing the slicing and consuming. He never found the idea of allowing someone to kill him very attractive, as accepting of the twists and turns of life as he is, but apparently his stance on that started to shift - just like how his view of Will was shifting. It was something so new that it only made him even more curious about what Will could truly be capable of. More determined to keep trying to nudge and persuade him. How would he feel if one of those dreams became reality and Will did try to kill him by his own hand, he wondered. Would it be as glorious as it always is in his sleep?
