PUCK:
continued from here [x] - @highbootsandcoffee
Why was Jesse still standing there? Had the older male suddenly lost the ability to hear? Puck had been very clear in what the guy needed to do, but instead of hiding in his closet, Jesse was standing still.
It seemed like it took years for Jesse to finally agree. âYeah, yeah, I know! Now hide!â Puck hissed, quickly opening his closet door and closing it.
ââSup, Ma? Didnât think youâd be home right now,â Puck told his mother when heâd opened his bedroom door. âYou heard voices? Nah, itâs only me. I was, uh, skyping with Finn. Yeah, Iâll let him know ya say âhi!â Okay, have a nice time at work. Uh-huh, love you.â He waited until heâd heard his mother close the front door of their apartment to open his closet door. âPhew, that was close! Thanks for hiding, dude. You obviously didnât want to, but I appreciate that you did.â
Jesse just glared at Puck from in between racks of clothing and sports gear. âEver hear of Febreze?â He snapped, pushing his way out and then running a hand through his hair.
âLook,â Jesse said, his voice softer after a minute. âI get that weâre not all lovey dovey or whatever. I totally respect the fact that you donât want commitment. Frankly, I think itâs overrated. And I really donât mind being your booty call - obviously youâve got some talent in the bedroom...â
Jesse paused a moment, brows drawn together in a frown. âBut you have some decisions to make, Puckerman. I refuse to be hidden away like that. You canât extinguish my glow. Iâm a star, no matter where I am. I deserve to shine.â
ELLIOTT:
Elliott bent down to pick up the suitcase handle - having quite literally THROWN it to the floor in his eagerness to grab at Kurt and greet his friend in a way fit for such a long time apart - switching hands so as to not put anything between them.Â
A laugh left him at Kurtâs flurry of questions. It hadnât been a long flight (Around the hour and a half marker, give or take; he hadnât exactly been TIMING) and the time difference wasnât an issue, so he felt Kurt was worrying over nothing.Â
âIt was fine - a bit ROUGH but nothing too bad.â An enjoyable kind of unsteadiness. âAnd no, we can grab something if you want, Iâm feeling fine. Just a littleâŠin need of stretching my legs.â He was FAR too tall for it to be comfortable on a plane, but this walk through the airport was doing the job nicely, working sore muscles.Â
âThen how about this,â Kurt suggested, still smiling happily, glad to be in Elliottâs company. âWe take a cab to my place, drop off your stuff, and then we go for a walk?â
He, for one, was in no hurry to leave Elliott alone again, not after so long being apart. It was funny, though, how the two years seemed to disappear in the instant that Elliott had wrapped him up in a hug. It felt as though nothing had changed.
âIâm anxious to hear everything,â Kurt continued, before Elliott could voice an opinion. âWhat happened while you were gone, how you enjoyed your time, if you met anyone special...â
ELLIOTT:
Elliott just laughed off Kurtâs ramblings, not reading all too much into them beyond the defence of a word slip up - it was adorable really, how Kurt backtracked when he didnât get the words right and stuttered his way through ten subjects, if a littleâŠODD.Â
Then, who was he to judge?Â
âItâs fine Kurt, I get you, no worries.â A slip of the tongue, and a little WISHFUL THINKING on his part that he quickly set aside.Â
âBut no thanks, Iâm good.â Not that he thought Kurt ACTUALLY wanted the drink, but hey, it was the opportunity to let him have a minute alone should Kurt WANTÂ to take the chance.Â
Kurt smiled, his cheeks still flushed, and stepped into the kitchen, silently cursing himself. He stood for a moment with his head in the fridge, letting the cool air wash over him, and then finally got himself a drink and brought it back to the living room.
Sitting beside Elliott again, Kurt tried his best to shove all the awkwardness aside. Things didnât have to be weird. What was a little unrequited crush between friends, anyway? Still, he couldnât help the nervous giggle that pushed past his lips as he looked again at Elliott.
âIâm sorry, Iâm being weird,â Kurt said, an honest moment before rolling his eyes and trying again. âWhen are you free?â
âWhat would everyone say if they saw us together right now?â (St. Hudson)
Jesse fought the urge to laugh and roll his eyes. From the sound of Finnâs voice, it was a serious question and for once, Jesse didnât feel like mocking him. Maybe it was the post-orgasm haze making him feel warm and fuzzy. Maybe it was the whisky heâd downed earlier. Or maybe it was just the way it felt to be naked and tangled up with Finn beneath the mountain of blankets.
Whatever the reason, Jesse just smiled and angled his head up to press a kiss to Finnâs chin. âNo one would believe it anyway. And if they did, this would be the one and only time that theyâd be right in thinking Iâm not good enough for you.â
RACHEL:
Rachel noticed the genuine smile RIGHT AWAY. Normally when Jesse smiled for people, it didnât quite reach his eyes. Always slightly reserved, holding something back. But THESE smiles? The ones she had long suspected that only she had seen? Warmed her to her very back bone, distracting her with the slight twinkle they lit in his eyes. She beamed in response to it, equally unable to control her natural reaction to him.
âGood. Iâm good. GREAT, actually.â Rachel babbled in response, mentally slapping herself as she fought for control of her emotions. It wasnât easy for a girl like Rachel to see her exes again under ANY circumstances, let alone when they were unexpectedly the other half of a duo that was suppose to launch her career. But with Jesse, while sheâd braced herself to feel pain? To relive the anger of the egging in the school parking lot, or his face when sheâd kissed Finn at NationalsâŠ
She felt NONE of that.Â
Instead, she was just genuinely happy to see him. Finally, her nightmares about arriving at rehearsal only to discover sheâd have to carry the show on her own were ended. Jesse was her equal in every way; always had been. If anyone could pull off acting material like this as well as her, it would be him. âIâve been living in a loft with Kurt since graduation, soâŠâ she trailed off, for once in her life not all that interested in discussing herself.
âHow about you? What ⊠what happened to you after we TOTALLY crushed you at Nationals all those years ago?â Rachel teased, raising one eyebrow as her smile brightened.Â
Rachelâs smile was like a balm that immediately soothed some of Jesseâs hangover, the tension in his head fading slightly as he basked in her warmth. It would only add to the pain behind his eyes if he tried to analyze any of that, so he let it be.
Still smiling he shook his head, âObviously it did nothing but further my drive. Iâm here, arenât I?â It was tempting - as always - to prattle on about himself, his achievements and accomplishments, and Jesse would have loved to be on the receiving end of some rare Rachel Berry praise, but he found himself staring, instead.
She looked good. Really good. New York obviously agreed with Rachel, although that was no surprise. Jesse had known from the beginning that Rachel was destined for stardom. And now, here they were, both of them together again. What should have been awkward and uncomfortable somehow felt...right.
Which meant Jesse had to distance himself immediately. âIâll let you get ready,â he said, backing up a step, âAnd Iâll see you in rehearsals...Take care, Rachel.â
People should reblog this if they are okay with receiving ask memes from people theyâve never rped with before. Mutual or not.
âItâs a human thingâŠwanting what you canât have.â (St. Fabray)
Jesse just smirked, stepping closer to Quinn, his eyes drawn to her lips. âWhatever you need to tell yourself.â
âI know youâll get in trouble for it, butâŠplease stay with me tonight.â (St. Fabray duh AND I HAVE MISSED YOU AROUND HERE!!!)
Jesse licked his lips and stared down at Quinn. The soft glow from the lamplight turned her hair golden where it lay strewn across the pillow. Her cheeks were flushed and her lips swollen from his kisses. Heâd never seen her look as beautiful.
It was incredibly difficult to say no, and Jesse was sure Quinn knew it. The way she looked at him from beneath her eyelashes, the way her teeth drew her lower lip into her mouth, looking somehow innocent and seductive all at once.
Jesse looked at the door, and then back at Quinn. âFuck it,â he mumbled, pulling his shirt back up over his head and climbing back in bed with Quinn. âIâll deal with it tomorrow.â

Elliott hadnât MEANT to be over the top, but as he came out of the airport and saw Kurt waiting for him, he couldnât help but ditch his bag at their feet and pull the other up into the air, squished between his arms in a true BEAR HUG.
He only laughed as Kurt DEMANDED to be put down, spinning the other around a few times before finally lowering him to his feet and letting go, grin still PLASTERED across his face.
âAlright, alright - itâs just REALLY GOOD to see you, man.â
Kurt honestly couldnât tell if it was the spinning or being in Elliottâs arms that had him breathless and dizzy. Two years apparently hadnât been enough to extinguish the tiny spark that Kurt had felt.
With flushed cheeks and a wide grin, Kurt waited for Elliott to pick up his bag again before falling into step with him. âHow was your flight? Do you want to grab something to eat or are you too tired? Tell me everything.â
gonnabiteya:
Elliott was all but oblivious to Kurtâs staring, eyes shut and head tilted up towards the ceiling up until he was joined on the sofa - at that point he CRACKED them open once more, glancing at Kurt and debating if, really, he should sit up.Â
Yeah, probably.Â
Swinging his legs around with that same theatrical flair, Elliott sat properly, legs spread and arms resting against his thighs.Â
âIâve already seen it TWICE.â Elliott admitted, that somewhat AWKWARD laugh leaving him, tattooed hand rubbing the back of his neck as if heâd been caught out doing something embarrassing.Â
Then, when you were the âRockerâ of the group, watching sappy romance musicals probably WAS embarrassing.Â
âBut I think I could handle one more trip.â For Kurt, of course.Â
Kurt licked his lips and tried not to stare, although it was hard, especially being this close.Â
Elliott never failed to amaze him. He was made up of such complex layers, something that had always intrigued Kurt, being a fan of layers himself, whether it be in clothing or cakes or personality.
His smile widened at Elliottâs words. âGreat! Itâs a date,â Kurt said without thinking, then felt his cheeks flushed as he realized what heâd said. âI mean, not a date date. Unless you want it to be. Which would be silly, wouldnât it? Of course you donât want that. I just meant...well, you know what I meant. Is it hot in here? I think itâs hot in here. Iâm going to get a drink. Do you want one?â
HI I LOVE YOU
Aw. Thank you!Â
âIâm supposed to get married tomorrowâŠâ (St. Fabray)
And just like that, the world turned upside down for Jesse. Heâd known, somewhere deep down inside, that leaving Quinn for so long would only result in heartache. And maybe heâd sabotaged himself on purpose.
The truth was that Jesse was confident in a lot of things, but when it came to matters of the heart, that was altogether different. Jesse didnât really understand how love worked, and he never stuck around long enough to find out. Better that he break their hearts and keep his own intact.
He could tell Quinn was waiting for him to say something. Maybe she even expected that this would be the turning point, this would be the one thing that would finally make Jesse stand and fight for her.
Instead, however, Jesse did what he had always done. He squared his shoulders and lifted his chin, his pride a front that would conceal everything he was feeling.
âCongratulations,â Jesse said, his voice calm and even despite the pain. And then - because turning mean was an even better form of defense - Jesseâs lips curved into a smirk. âGuess you wonât be wearing white, though.â
âIâll tell them soon, I promise. But right now, you need to get in the closet.â (Jesse)
At first, Jesse just stared at Puck in shock. For one, how was it possible Puck hadnât told anyone yet? More importantly, how did he expect someone like Jesse St. James to hide himself?
A muscle slid in Jesseâs jaw and he narrowed his eyes dangerously. Jesse loved the spotlight, craved it, thrived on it. To hide himself away like a dirty little secret was demeaning. Honestly, Jesse was tempted to stay where he was. Letting their relationship be discovered like this would be so dramatic that Jesse could almost taste it.
It was the genuinely panicked look in Puckâs eyes that finally made Jesse move. He sighed and rolled his eyes, making sure Puck knew damn well that Jesse was so not on board with hiding like this.
âYou owe me, Puckerman. Big time.â
ELLIOTT:
Elliott grinned right back.
Heâd been hesitant around Kurt at first - even after they became friends over âFrenemiesâ, but as time wore on and the others adjusted to New York, Elliott found himself and Kurt actually got on like a house on fire.
They were different; his tattoo ridden arms and mustache dabbling spoke volumes about that; but they were also eerily ALIKE at times. Like this, bad dancing and singing show-tunes as they danced around the flat like NUTTERS.
Or as his mother used to fondly say, 'Hyperactive missfitsâ.
Kurtâs compliment is met with a small laugh from Elliott, and he flopped down onto the sofa, laying across it with long legs hanging over the edge as he breathed heavily, trying to regain his breath.
âHave you seen 'The Greatest Showmanâ yet? It was SO good.â
Kurt took a moment, under the pretense of catching his own breath, but really, just to stare at Elliott. The way his chest moved, the sweat that dotted his hairline, the curve of his jaw...
âI actually havenât had a chance,â Kurt said finally, dropping to the couch beside Elliott, wedging himself into the small space afforded to him and secretly loving it because it meant they were actually touching. âMaybe...maybe we could go together? If you donât mind watching it again?â
