In Memory of Mark Chaney, two original paintings, 2014
The same, yet so very different. Brief story behind these: My boyfriend's dad passed away in July of 2013. He was a tattoo artist and a musician and my boyfriend would very much like to have his old guitar (as he too is an aspiring musician) and some of his old portfolio. However, his family is filled with a bunch of psychotic assholes and has still yet to receive any of his father's possessions or even stuff of his own that was supposed to be shipped to him after moving out to Oregon from Kansas. So with all that being said for our one year anniversary I decided to paint these for him to give him something to remember him by. I even submitted them to my college's literary journal and they got published. I am very proud of these two pieces because they have a very emotional connection for me and for the person I painted them for.
