spontaneously decided not to go to pride in my city because i didn't feel mentally up to handle a lot of people today only to wake up to worried calls from my mom because someone drove a van into a crowd killing one person and injuring multiple others

i've spent hours checking in on my friends and luckily they're all safe

berlin used to be a city where queer people could feel safe and free to be themselves

things have been getting worse for a while now but this hatecrime makes it impossible to ignore
