Isn't it weird that Falco has hands instead of wings? This question sent me into bit of a rabbit hole, involving cartoon character designs and HD textures. So, why not make a short about it?

This video is the first of hihi-OPeds! Short for "Opinion Editorial", hihi-OPeds will be of opinions or fun ideas I want to share but don't want to make a SPpaint for. Current topics range from video games, cartoons, and theatre. I have several written so far. Expect these to be released in-between the sets of short uploads.
I'm developing hihi-ZIRAIKA, fanart of Aika and ZIra from Pretty Pretty Please I Don't Want To Be A Magical Girl. It's an incredibly promising indie animation project that I've been wanting to make fanart for a while now. There were false starts in the past but this one is already close to completion!
New SPpaints will resume to be full videos THEN be posted as shorts. Only doing shorts simply hasn't worked out as well as full vids algorithmically. I believe I've developed enough tricks to make video editing quicker, as seen with the recent changes to shorts.
Currently finishing this up. Once the drawing is done and the short schedule is open, I'll upload the sketch short publicly as a teaser.

This change was made so I can focus on bigger projects, specifically my next game. Hoping to give more info on that soon. I'm mainly making SPpaints now because I want a break from my game or out of guilt for not uploading. Been really neglecting my social medias otherwise.😓

... Well, late into the Birthday, as I was busy with some stuff, and art is starting to take even more time for me as I continue improving.
... Looks a little off in some places, the shading isn't as good and the outlines look kind of weird on the eyes. But it only shows that I improved since 2023!
This is my Birthday fan-HEART from 2024. An accidental chibi style (Fits though! But I mean, I was trying to draw fanart of a chibi robot, right?) and looks somewhat basic, I was probably going through a phase where drawing like this got slightly boring for me at the time...?
My Game, My Prince is a relatively short point-and-click psychological horror game by me, hihi-HEART. It's about a developer working on a month-long game jam and the struggles of said developer and their family. It explores topics of dreams, worth, and regret in a mostly grounded way.
This game was worked on for a month-long game jam, specifically The Toxic Terror Game jam. It was developed using RPG Maker MV.
If everything runs right, it should take approx. 2 hour to finish a single run. However, there are five different endings and a day-by-day saving feature, so total completion time may vary.
With all that said, thank you for considering playing my first released indie game! Please be kind as it's my first proper release and it was made under a deadline. Bugs and mistakes should be expected and shared with consideration.

Its been a relaxing experience, though my trigger finger keeps itching. Especially when Neo's near. Impressive kid but I don't get Tableturf.
Niki3 > Fashion? Eh, I just throw on a good jacket. But that just causes 4 and Neo's dress ups. Gives 8 an excuse to do some washing. Her clothes and mine.

Been also meaning to ask you something recently, what do you use for that whispering computer TTS voice? (The one that announces all the stages and stuff) Just curious :D
Normally, you need a Mac for this Whisper voice. But, as a Windows user, I go to FastHub.net, a site where you can generate TTS voice clips for free.
Very handy for Y2K artists, considering the voice’s frequency in media at the time. Love its robotic and mysterious quality.
First heard it in CROSSNIQ+, an indie game that introduced the y2k aesthetic proper to me.
Then I learned about the voice's origin from Nitro Rad’s Blinx video, where he gave a short summary on the voice’s origins and usage in games and anime.

Any opinions on KPop Demon Hunters yet? Me, I actually enjoyed it. The "Golden" AND the "Soda Pop" actually killed my brain bc of how catchy these banger music are. 😀
Hi-Hi! I have finally taken the time to watch this movie recently.
It’s a bit hard because of the whole “household” account BS plaguing streaming right now and probably forever. That and my mom wanted to watch it and this is the kind of movie we'd only watch together.
I enjoyed the movie. Generally, there are parts that are very high-quality, others that could've been more fleshed out.

I love the animation, love how 3D has well started adopting 2D animation principles.
I enjoy the crazy expressions the characters can get. As people have pointed out, female animated characters often don’t get to make “ugly” expressions. Especially if they’re meant to be beautiful. Reminds me of old Disney animators complaining about the new generations drawing the princesses. And that was just about the smear frames!
I've seen several comments and posts complaining about these faces, saying they feel out of place or that it's "Gen Z humor" that's "made for kids". K-pop and pop groups in general target teens and young adults, so I question how much this movie was made for kids. Families, sure. Most animated movies are. But people who claim this simply don't like the expressions or humor and equate anything they don't like with being for young people. It's the usual generation gap problems.
Listen, if official movie clips aren't being labelled "for kids" on YouTube, then I think it's safe to say this isn't a kids movie. Animation and silly humor isn't strictly kid stuff.
If it helps the comedy and show that these girls are as human as they are beautiful, faults and all, then it works and is appropriate.
I do think the movie goes a bit too fast, particularly in the middle with all it's montages. Could’ve used more breathing room, “ma” as the Japanese and some film people call it (Ma translates to “negative space” and can be applied to life in general). Because of this, I agree that Kpop Demon Hunters should’ve been a series rather than a movie.
Could’ve given time to develop the relationship between Huntrix and even the main romance. I mean, there are parts where the girls are talking about their realizations and character development off-screen, talking about it in past tense. And I think there's a fine line between "I feel better when I'm with you" and "I'm in love with you" that's certainly hard to cross but necessary when writing a romance.
The Saja Boys are carried by their designs. Outside of Jinu, the rest are just pretty looks with one defining trait. Half of them don't even have real names. Might be a statement or reference to how Kpop idols are perceived or portrayed. Might be because of the limited runtime. Probably both.
But added personality and screen time could’ve added to the parallels between Rumi and Jinu’s stories, not having the space to talk about and process their issues with those closest to them. They don’t necessarily have to be as humanized or tragic as Jinu, though I think that would've made fans especially happy.
I mean, if people want to see the face of a character who doesn’t have any real lines, they’d eat up more sad hot boy stories. Including me, especially for Baby Saja. But I guess that’s what fan-fiction’s for.
I'd at least want a small scene where Jinu tries to confine himself with the other Saja Boys, only for them to answer with their zombie-esque apathy. Just a brainstorm I had.
I enjoyed a lot of the songs, though they're too poppy to be part of my regular playlist. Pretty much only listen to musical songs, none that fit a pop genre. Though I won't object to a little Soda Pop. It's amazing to have a song meant to be catchy in the story and getting it to be actually catchy.
The lyrics remind me of Duncan Sheik's songwriting mentality, where the lyrics are universal enough to apply to situations outside his musicals and, thus, could be popular with general audiences who might not even know the song's origins. Though his shows are usually too niche and dark for the mainstream, compared to Kpop Demon Hunters.
The love song Free is the only song which felt off-putting personally, mainly due to the fast-paced lyrics. The slow, somber animation and scene calls for a slower ballad. It’s not like this is a genre limitation, there are Kpop ballads. Here’s an example of what I mean.
Feels like the animation team and songwriter EJAE had two different ideas on how the moment should feel. Though knowing pop writers, she probably just wrote what sounded good. Not trying to put the blame on her, it's the directors' responsibility to keep a consistent, quality vision. And that said, the song and scene seems to be liked. Not to mention the confusingly mainstream distaste for ballads. So my opinion remains only my opinion.
And that's all my main thoughts on Kpop Demon Hunters! Again, sorry for the delayed response.
