And so, the next morning…
“Eh? What is it, Tsukki?” He blinks, not moving until his friend tells him to look, which never comes as query.
First off, Tsukishima is simply too stunned. Second… it all clicked within the span of seconds as he saw the cake. The moment he saw it along with the initial, he recalled their outing at the bakery and it became crystal clear. the expression on his face does not shift, as well-practiced as he is. No one else could detect the tiniest widening of eyes but his faithful friend.
“…it’s nothing. Don’t be ridiculous, Yamaguchi.”
Grinning, he turned away to send a short text: I almost heard the moment it clicked. He had no idea what she did, but there was no doubt he would find out.
And as such, once lunchtime came, the taller male found her classroom and requested for her (away from others’ ears) to meet him after their practice was over later today.
It simply could not wait, after all. Not after she had given herself this trouble.
Hitoka hadn’t been able to say much when she was asked to meet Kei, he had clearly picked up on her hint and now this was actually happening. She would be informed of how he felt. She managed a flushed nod before heading back to her class to dwell over her thoughts for the rest of the day.
In her mind, there was a good chance that she would be rejected. This was a big fear of hers, but she kept telling herself that it was better that she approached him. At least, she would know now. If it was bad, then she could have that closure at least.
After what felt like a never ending day of classes as practice, she waited for him outside for he gym doors. She stayed in her gym clothes, they were warmer to walk home in. After waving goodbye to Hinata and Yamaguchi, she turned to see that Kei had stepped outside. She gave hima timid smile, before clearing her throat.
“You wanted to talk to me, Tsukishima-san?”
