"Okay," Paige whispered, trying to calm herself. "Okay. I can do that. Also I’m wearing my hair down tonight cause it’s Azzi’s favorite.”
Nika smirked through the screen, crossing her arms. "It looks pretty, one last thing, go pack a bag."
Paige blinked, freezing mid-motion. "A bag? For what?"
"For when you spend the night," Nika said casually.
"Nika, are you insane?!" Paige scoffed, waving a hand dismissively. "Azzi is not gonna want me to spend the night! We literally just survived a major crisis twelve hours ago. I'm having dinner, clearing the air, and driving home."
"Just in case, Paige! Listen to me," Nika commanded, pointing an authoritative finger at the camera. "Grab a small bag. Throw a toothbrush, a hairbrush, and deodorant in it. Throw it in the back of your car. That way, when she inevitably asks you to stay over, you can play it smooth and just tell her, 'Oh, I actually keep an extra set of toiletries in my car just in case.' Boom. Problem solved, you look prepared, not desperate."
Paige rolled her eyes hard, but a small blush crept up her neck anyway. "First of all, that is absurd. Second of all, I have work tomorrow morning."
"Okay, fine! So pack work clothes, too!" Nika countered instantly without missing a beat. "Just leave the clothes in the car and change when you get to work."
Paige stared at her best friend's smug face on the screen, letting out a long, dramatic groan. She rubbed her temples, completely exhausted by Nika’s relentless optimism.
"Fine," Paige huffed, snatching an overnight pouch from her bathroom counter and throwing a toothbrush into it. "I am only doing this so you will shut up and let me leave on time. But I am not sleeping over, Nika. It's not happening."
"Whatever you say, P," Nika grinned, blowing her a kiss through the screen. "Have fun on your date!"
I was rereading fmfias and the first chapter when they meet each other at the catholic school it gave me “wild child” vibes. By vibes I mean the scenery of the school and stuff. I’m not sure if anyone else has watched that movie but if someone has tho they might understand what I mean lol.
