Therapy Chick. Woman in checkout line at HomeDepot had a chick i its own little cart. She told me it was a therapy chicken, as Granny had a siitin’ chicken on the Beverly Hillbillies.
Wall. Free standing retaining stone wall. Behind it we’ll plant avocado trees, then a retaining basin to help capture rain water.
Urbanite. Cut cement patio area into building material. This will be used to line sunken area lined with fruit trees. Watering will be rain water, greywater and drip sprinklers
Xmas light extension. Ran extension cord around garage using wood clamps. Saw a neighbor had done this.
Time to start planning your garden! What do you like to grow?
Garage remodel. None of the existing cross beams were worth saving, nor the supports for the garage door. Top picture shows all old beams removed, and bottom shows replacement lumber: 2x8x24'. As we're adding attic (with storage), larger lumber is needed.
Bathrooms @ Y. Any way you want/need it.
Back flow. Best to have one of these on your spigot before spraying poison. I'm spraying insecticide Permethrin for a flea outbreak at our home. $5 USD insures that we're not drinking the insecticide in our tap water!
Foundation. Used concrete patch on exposed foundation to prevent further deterioration. Then on to patching stucco, leveling/sloping soil, and topping with mulch.
Rotary hammer. This stucco wall only took me 1.75 hours to do with my new Bosch Bulldog. Prior shorter wall took me a week and I was exhausted. But not today! Of the many extras: virtually no dust, work standing up, and didn't hurt my strained wrist.
Free compost. And mulch from Mira Mesa landfill in San Diego. Pictured is free mulch and compost in truck bed.
Dry grass? On trouble shooting, found house water cut-off valve was partially closed! On opening, water pressure back to 78psi, or normal. Unsure how this happened, but many hands touched during remodel.
Rooster. Neighborhood has chickens. We'd herd this chickens before walking dogs, and saw this guy out and about.
Chews. Peppy show off his chew skills
Footing. An old wall footing was one of many reasons our bedroom corner was a water disaster-to-happen. A 69lb jackhammer removed one of the offenders. Screened soil for crap and concrete pieces.
Jacaranda tree. Bumper crop this year in SanDiego! A tree you like to admire in a neighbors yard.
