we gotta get back to torrent distribution, i just watched someone eat eight grand in bandwidth charges because they ran a direct-download piracy site with local file hosting through cloudflare. torrents were invented literally for this exact reason
torrents work like this
i have a file or folder on my pc that i want to share with other people. let's call it gayshit.mp3
unfortunately gayshit.mp3 is 750mb and im not paying for discord nitro so i need another way to send it
i put it into qbittorrent and it makes a torrent file. this is essentially a very small file that points to gayshit.mp3 so other computers can find it. kinda like a treasure map
i send this tiny file to my friend, who loads it into qbittorrent. their computer takes a moment to find mine over the vast expanse of cyberspace and then (as long as my pc is running and the file is still where it should be), it gets copied from my hard drive to theirs
this is the cool part: if somebody else loads that tiny file, they can download it from both of us. if i'm offline but my friend is on, the third person can still get it. this also means that if two people have separate halves of the file, they can download the other half from each other. as long as some combination of people have the pieces between them, they can all have the whole thing.
crucially this does not require a server!!! you can just upload the file to a few people and as long as they keep it, it's still accessible. as long as somebody, somewhere is still connected, it's available forever. the only way it goes away is if everybody disconnects from it.
please learn to torrent

always use qbittorrent, do not use bittorrent or utorrent.

i’m reading why does he do that and this last part has been ON FIRE, i am hollering in my house.
while i’m talking about this book again i should mention that, since it’s an abuse resource, Why Does He Do That is available to read for free as a pdf, and i’d highly recommend it.
[Alt text: Is He Doing It On Purpose?
When a client of mine tells me that he became abusive because he lost control of himself, I ask him why he didn’t do something even worse. For example, I might say, “You called her a fucking whore, you grabbed the phone out of her hand and whipped it across the room, and then you gave her a shove and she fell down. There she was at your feet, where it would have been easy to kick her in the head. Now, you have just finished telling me that you were ‘totally out of control’ at that time, but you didn’t kick her. What stopped you?” And the client can always give me a reason. Here are some common explanations:
“I wouldn’t want to cause her a serious injury.”
“I realized one of the children was watching.”
“I was afraid someone would call the police.”
“I could kill her if I did that.”
“The fight was getting loud, and I was afraid neighbors would hear.”
And the most frequent response of all:
“Jesus, I wouldn’t do that. I would never do something like that to her.”
The response that I almost never heard—I remember hearing it twice in fifteen years—was: “I don’t know.”
These ready answers strip the cover off of my clients’ loss-of-control excuse. While a man is on an abusive rampage, verbally or physically, his mind maintains awareness of a number of questions: “Am I doing something that other people could find out about, so it could make me look bad? Am I doing anything that could get me in legal trouble? Could I get hurt myself? Am I doing anything that I myself consider too cruel, gross, or violent?”
A critical insight seeped into me from working with my first few dozen clients: An abuser almost never does anything that he himself considers morally unacceptable. He may hide what he does because he thinks other people would disagree with it, but he feels justified inside. I can’t remember a client ever having said to me: “There’s no way I can defend what I did. It was just totally wrong.” He invariably has a reason that he considers good enough. In short, an abuser’s core problem is that he has a distorted sense of right and wrong. /End alt text]
xenonite may be inert but it's made up of tiny crystalline microstructures so i'd likely advise against putting it inside the human body based on the structure of it. any sort of abrasion or damage to the tooth would likely cause some issues unless there was some protective coating to stop any fractures from shedding material.
could be wrong here, but definitely needs a protective coating of some kind. a good solution would be a hydroxyapatite coating (this is what tooth enamel is made of!) since that can easily be synthesised in a lab
Thankyouioweyoumylife
I wonder if xenonite would make good fake teeth or if thats like. Toxic. Can I give grace xenonite teeth
What are the implications if I make them out of the same material as Rocky and Adrian's wedding band lmao
i like when they just get to hold each other
away it goes
This post encapsulates how I imagine their relationship so perfectly that I had to draw it

That cloud... it looks like me!
To be loved is to be changed
Grace having mate/purpose/name tattoos via scarification. Grace having his mates rock colors on him in form of jewelry and dangling necklaces that chime and make noise like a cat bell. Grace returning to earth completely changed, almost alien, and better for it. Near unrecognizable to people who once knew him. His speech patterns slightly off, his hearing excellent, his eyes adjusted to permanent low light. Spans of tiny scratches across his arms and body permanently marking him Eridian. His name, his mates, his purpose, the petrova line connecting sol to tau ceti, thus connecting grace to rocky, permanently etched on his being. His left arm disfigured and scarred from the Eridian atmosphere, a permanent reminder of what he was willing to sacrifice for rocky, a purpose tattoo in and of itself. TO BE LOVED IS TO BE CHANGED
Erid gave Grace a home in the way Earth never could, with no expectations of a human society that shunned Grace and left him outcast- an alien among his own species. Hes more at home among real aliens than he ever was on Earth. And if- when- he returns to that blue planet he will be more alien than ever, but belonging more than he ever did.
Rocky waited forty years on the Blip-A. Grace was born and grew in that time, and though neither of them knew it, they were waiting waiting waiting for eachother to come home.
