The Bochlwyd Horseshoe is one of Snowdonia's classic scrambles. The route most commonly comprises of three popular scrambles: the Tryfan North Ridge, Bristly Ridge up to Glyder Fach, and the Y Gribin Ridge during the descent. For the more adventurous, there are numerous variations that can be applied to the route such as accessing the north ridge via Milestone Gully or Nor Nor Groove, or accessing Glyder Fach via Main Gully rather than Bristly Ridge. On this occasion, I chose to access Tryfan's north ridge via the Bastow Buttress scramble route

An enjoyable walk in the Upper Dove Valley area of the Peak District, starting with an ascent of High Wheeldon and then finishing with the distinctive Parkhouse Hill and Chrome Hill.

A high level walk above Upper Derwent Valley in the Peak District, starting with Crook Hill before heading over Bridge-end Pasture and down to the Derwent Dam. The walk then continues up to Lost Lad and Back Tor before following Derwent Edge back towards the A57.

Tower Ridge, to date, has been the scariest and most awe inspiring scramble I have completed. It’s been just over 2 years now since I completed it, and at the time it was the first scramble I’d done that was above the level of a grade 1. For those that don’t know, Tower Ridge is a grade 3 scramble route, leading up to Ben Nevis – and is one of the UK’s most exciting and well known scrambles. It features around a kilometre of scrambling on good quality clean rock ascending 600 metres, and some heart stopping, anxiety inducing moments of exposure that do enough to justify the grade 3 rating.

This walk includes Bradgate Park and Old John Tower before moving onto one of Leicestershires finest viewpoints – Beacon Hill – and returning via Swithland Wood. The walk was inspired by a similar one detailed on the fantastic resource for walkers, walkingenglishman.com, and was of interest to me as I hadn’t yet explored the county of Leicestershire.

The Clogwyn y Person Arête is one of the classic scrambles in Snowdonia. It can either be ascended via the Parsons Nose (a climb), or via it's west gully.

This linear walk explores some of the lovely countryside around the Nottinghamshire villages of Southwell, Oxton, Calverton, and Lambley.

This arduous but rewarding walk takes in some of the finest hills and views in the Peak District. Starting in Edale valley itself, the walk proceeds to cover Mam Tor, Lose Hill, Win Hill, and the south-east edge of the Kinder Plateau before returning back down to Edale.

A long walk in the Peak District, covering Shining Tor, a section of the Dane Valley, Birchenough Hill, Shutlinsloe, and Macclesfield Forest.

A high level circuit around Matlock Bath in the Peak District, starting with the prominent High Tor before moving on towards the Heights of Abraham and Masson Hill. The walk also takes in the graveyard at St Giles Church, the Pic Tor war memorial, and Masson Opencast Quarry before utilising Lovers Walk to return to the starting point.
