“They stopped someday? Maan, I don’t think you’re that good of a chef like you think you are, if not even your closest buddies would try your stuff…” Kokichi could be quite blunt, so maybe it was better for her to realize that fact now. Even though he was a proud liar, he wouldn’t shy away to tell her his true opinion of something he genuinely thought tasted bad.
“Ooooh, hey, that sounds super interesting. So are you something like super heroes then? Bet that was a lot of fun, wasn’t it?” Once Yukikio asked Kokichi if he was much of a ‘fighter’ however, his smile faded away and he stared to the ground. As usually for him though, that didn’t even last a secound and he tried his best to not let anyone notice that he just remembered something unpleasant. “Hahaha, totally. Guess you could call it that. I was locked up in some weird school with my classmates, and all that by some ugly robot bear. There, I was forced to play some kind of killing game! Everyone was totally paranoid and there were many deaths, everything was super bloody and messy, too!~” It was understandable if that would shock the girl next to him, but he decided to laugh it all off right after.
“Of course that was a lie, haha, there’s no way something like that could happen, right? Did I getcha?”
True, perhaps her cooking could use some work. However, that wasn’t going to stop her from continuing to try! As the heiress to the Amagi Inn, she couldn’t just sit back and do nothing. Cooking had always been a fatal point for her-- Despite ignorant comments from certain Investigation Team members in the past, she was determined to keep trying. “Maybe so. But.. Even if they did stop, they’ll return once they realize how much my skills have improved!”
It wasn’t often Yukiko talked about the Investigation Team or the television world to other people not involved with the ordeal. Rather, she had barely even mentioned it since arriving to Spirale. “Super heroes? I-In a way, you might say that. The skills we had were those of our personas-- Realizations within ourselves, if you will. Those are what manifested and granted us power. Perhaps you have one too.” A way to connect the conversation back to him, really. “It was hard, but the strength from me and my peers made it worth it, I’d say.”
Yet, Kokichi’s supposed situation sounded worse. To Yukiko, it seemed much too detailed to be a lie. Why would one fake being in a killing game? That sounded horrific. She couldn’t imagine being in such a scenario, herself. “A killing game? Deaths? That’s.. horrible..” A pause. Even if he was acting like she was fooled, Yukiko wasn’t convinced. “You can be honest with me. I’m sorry you had to deal with such a thing. Did you die, too..?”
