Fun fact: Hiraeth (HEER-ighth) is a Welsh word without a direct English translation, roughly meaning “a deep longing for something, especially one’s home,” with implications of that home no longer existing or having never existed in the first place. I have some Welsh ancestry and have always been drawn to the word, so here we are!
