PSA: YOU'RE NOT BEING IGNORED.
A major part of the tumblr rp experience is refreshing the dash and see your mutual roleplaying with someone else. Or maybe they're answering asks, reblogging musing posts, making an OOC post here and there. However, there will be times where you are waiting on a plot, an ask, or a roleplay to be responded to and you see your partner interacting or engaging more with other people.
Again, the mind is a cruel thing. Inadequacy, jealousy, general anxieties stem up sometimes, it's part of being human. But what's important is how you act on these emotions. Please remind yourself that sometimes, things take time. Not all plots go somewhere. Sometimes, someone may not be feeling their muse for that rp. Maybe they just got really busy. Thousands of reasons, but none of them have anything to do with how much they like you as a person.
And that's okay. This isn't homework-- People should be allowed to pin down what they want to write and write it as they please. If you really want specific interactions, you can always send ic / anonymous asks to muses. You can make your own starter calls. Please don't put all of your eggs into one basket, as you will come to resent the people who don't immediately refill it. Don't be a goob, you have people who enjoy you AND your writing.
a psa about rp memes
when i reblog a meme, you are welcome to send me one. yes, you. if you’re seeing it on your dash, and we’re mutuals, you can send it. doesn’t matter if we’ve talked or written yet. it’s okay.
if we have multiple threads already, you can still send me a meme. just because i answer it doesn’t mean you/we have to continue it into a thread! it can just be a one-off thing. but…
even if we have multiple threads already, you CAN continue a meme i answer, if you’re feeling inspired to.
when i send memes, sometimes i send more than one. i just want to give you options! feel free to answer one or all or none. whatever suits you.
and when i send memes, sometimes i don’t continue them. that doesn’t mean i didn’t like your response! it just means i think it works fine as is. if you want me to continue it, just ask!
sometimes memes are just about wanting to write something. not every meme has to come with strings attached. just have fun with it!
“You always worry about everyone else. When was the last time you worried about yourself?”
the impact of sango's words hit kagome like an arrow: an arrow set free with full force at a formidable foe. it pierced through her unapologetically. the tightness in her chest remained, yet her ribs expanded in a regretful inhale. woe was higurashi kagome; such was her nature: always worrying about everyone, always being on her toes to take care of another. ❝ mm, ❞ kagome responds, defeat sinking into her. it's not like her friend was wrong, and it's not like she didn't have them care about her just as much, but... somber browns glance into those of the taijiya. ❝ what do you think i should do, sango-chan ? ❞
Sango was quiet for a moment, her gaze softening. “I think… you should let someone else carry the burden for a little while.” A faint smile touched her lips. She reached over, gently taking one of Kagome’s hands between both of hers. The gesture was simple, to anchor her friend when her thoughts threatened to carry her away.
“You’re always the one patching wounds, encouraging people, worrying over everyone when they’re hurting. But you don’t have to be strong every moment of every day, Kagome.” Her eyes drifted briefly toward the village beyond them before returning to her friend. “If you’re tired, then rest. If something is troubling you, talk about it. The people who care about you would rather share your worries than watch you carry them alone.” For all the times Kagome had been there for her, Sango wished she could make her see that she deserved the same kindness she so freely gave to others.
the miko's heart swelled at the sentiments: this time, sango's words were the elixir to the wound. the brunette comforted her and made her realize the truth of it all. kagome had been carrying a lot. there have been things she never talked about, things she kept inside her heart that began to ache. kikyou and inuyasha, school, her role as a PRIESTESS ---- was she even good enough ? all these things were kept at bay because kagome had priorities to take care of.... but truth be told, kagome didn't feel like it was right to express anything to the group. she was the most fortunate of all members, and if she'd vented, kagome feared it wouldn't be fair. her hands squeezed sango's in return, both in love and in gratitude. the slayer truly had become a great friend to her in the time that they'd traveled together. what would she do if she didn't have sango's support like this? this is girlhood. chestnut hues are pricked with tears, a sign that the girl's words got to her. they indeed registered deeply, eyes glossy in their gaze at sango. though, roseate tiers do perk up in a soft smile. a nod follows. ❝ you're right, sango-chan. thank you for saying this to me, ❞ her shoulders drop, and kagome continues with a deep exhale... and a confession. ❝ i don't tell anyone anything because we're all fighting our own battles. the last thing i'd want to be is a burden to anyone. ❞
Sango’s expression softened, her eyes warming with quiet understanding as she gently squeezed Kagome’s hands once more. Her thumb brushed comfortingly across her friend’s knuckles before one hand lifted to tuck a loose strand of hair behind Kagome’s ear, lingering there with sisterly affection. “Kagome… if our places were reversed, would you ever think I was a burden for confiding in you?” she asked gently, already knowing the answer. A faint smile touched her lips. “You wouldn’t. You’d listen, remind me I wasn’t alone, and carry part of that weight without a second thought. So please… don’t decide for the rest of us what we can bear.”
@hiraik0tsu sent an ask: “Congratulations. You survived.” ➥ 𝗨𝗡𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗧𝗘𝗗 / always accepting
“I told you that ya can trust me.” Said Yusuke said as he stepped out of the stomach of a dead demon all for the sake of grabbing the corpses of those who lost their lives to this monster the day before. At the very least the villagers will be able to mourn and bury their dead.
“Alright it’s about ten bodies to lug back to the village. Should be easy enough for me t’ carry. I’ll trust you t’ keep the path for us safe while we travel back to the village.” Yusuke said as he piled the corpses up in one big pile as respectfully as he could before hoisting them all up from the floor as a bundle and he began walking towards the direction of the village. His vision was limited but that’s why he had a partner.
“…You did all of this… so their families would have something left to bury.” There was no disbelief in her voice, only a subdued sort of admiration she seemed reluctant to let show. She stepped ahead of him, one hand resting on Hiraikotsu as her sharp eyes swept the forest surrounding the narrow trail. If he intended to bear the weight of the dead, then she would bear the responsibility of making certain they reached the village without interruption.
“…Your sight will be occupied carrying them.” She spoke without looking back. “Leave the road to me. And next time, warn me before you disappear into the stomach of a demon.” For the remainder of the journey, her attention never wavered from the path ahead.
@hiraik0tsu sent an ask: “Stop looking at me like that.” ➥ 𝗨𝗡𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗧𝗘𝗗 / always accepting
“Like what??” He didn’t mean to, but the gaze he gave her was intense, and there was a warm feeling to it as well. Yusuke was looking at her as though she was the path and he’s been lost for so long, looking at her as though she were the only woman who’s ever mattered to him and would ever matter to him. Yusuke is looking at her with hope, Yusuke is looking at her with adoration, and he couldn’t quite help it or know how to explain it.
Sango caught his gaze for only a moment before looking away, the warmth rising to her cheeks impossible to hide. “…Like that,” she murmured, almost as if the answer should have been obvious. She folded her arms across her chest, more to steady herself than to appear guarded, and let out a quiet breath. “You look at me as though I’m the only woman in the village.” The words were meant to sound matter-of-fact, but they carried a softness she couldn’t quite disguise. It wasn’t that his attention embarrassed her, it was the sincerity behind it. She had grown so accustomed to wandering eyes, to a man whose compliments were scattered between every pretty face and whose hands never seemed to know their place. She knew what it was to be desired alongside everyone else. But this… this was different. There wasn’t an ounce of hesitation or uncertainty in his eyes, only a quiet devotion that made it difficult for her to remember the walls she’d spent so long building.
“You don’t even seem to realize you’re doing it,” she continued, finally risking another glance before immediately looking aside again. That same expression was still there, unwavering, and it tugged at something deep inside her chest. A flattered smile threatened the corners of her lips before she suppressed it with a small shake of her head. “It’s unfair,” she admitted under her breath. “How am I supposed to think straight when you look at me like that?”
literally cannot get this song out of my head.
Sango didn’t respond right away. Her eyes stayed on him a moment too long, like she was trying to force two incompatible things to line up. The healing. The technique. The way he spoke about it like it was just another tool. Everything about it told her to stay cautious. And yet… he wasn’t acting like a threat. That was the problem.
“…You’re frustrating,” she said at last, quieter than before. Not angry, more reluctant. “Everything about what you’re saying should make you someone I don’t trust. But you don’t feel like that.”
"Sounds like yer gettin' all soft around me. Either that or I'm a good cook so you don't wanna lose that luxury either." He kept his attitude rather playful as a way of perhaps easing whatever apprehension that may be developing within her on a deeper level.
"Besides you know me by now. I'm the idiot who runs in the fire t'save someone he doesn't know. Not exactly what I'd call future husband material seeing as I'm always in some kinda danger. Could you marry someone like that?"
For a moment, Sango simply stared at him. Heat rushed to her cheeks before she could stop it. “W-What does that have to do with anything?” she shot back, immediately looking away. Her arms folded tighter across her chest as if that would somehow hide her reaction. “That’s not what we were talking about.”
She cleared her throat, trying to recover what little composure remained. “And any sensible woman would think twice about marrying a man who treats danger like a hobby.” The words were firm enough, but the faint color lingering in her face betrayed her, “Though… I suppose there are worse qualities than wanting to help people.” Then her eyes narrowed at him. “You’re changing the subject.”
Sango’s eyes lingered on the spotless skin far longer than they should have. Nothing. Not even the faintest mark remained. Slowly, she set the cloth aside. Hunters learned to trust what they saw, and Sango knew what she had seen. The wound had been real, which meant there was only one explanation. Something about him wasn’t normal. Her gaze narrowed slightly as it settled on Yusuke. A small knot formed in her chest.
She couldn’t have explained why, but some instinct she’d spent years relying on quietly stirred awake. The same instinct that had taught her to be cautious, to question things that did not make sense. Without realizing it, some of the ease she’d begun to feel around him retreated behind familiar walls.
“People do not heal like this.” The words were calm, matter-of-fact. She thought of demons whose wounds closed before her eyes. Of hanyō who recovered from injuries that would kill an ordinary human. Of strange powers she still couldn’t fully explain. Sango folded her arms.
“…You’ve known about this for some time, haven’t you?” It wasn’t quite an accusation but it also wasn’t a question she expected him to avoid. There was a quiet look of realization in her eyes now, pieces beginning to fit together. “Yusuke…” She paused. “What exactly are you?”
"What'd ya mean?? I am who I've always been..Urameshi Yusuke, ass kicker for the people who're too afraid t' fight for themselves." He tried to underplay the question by just reminding her of who he truly is at his core. Just a man who's rough around the edges with an abundance of kindness in his none-beating heart.
"But on paper, I'm a demon. I recover most cuts and wounds pretty easily. Bigger ones need me a good night's sleep." Hopefully, that should cause her worries to subside. "Though there is also a technique I learned from my master that lets me heal cuts and wounds, it's that same trick I used on ya not too long ago. It lets me speed up your body's own natural healing but the caviat is I need t' know what I'm doin'."

"It's funny my wife often asks the same question regarding my recklessness." That's something she has in common with a married woman at the very least. For a couple who claim nothing more than a platonic duo sure seen to have the utmost care for one another.
The man could tell with the smile Yusuke wore when she arrived and he can also tell that from the grin that's on Yusuke's face after he came back victorious. It was never about winning or losing, it was all about impressing Sango. "Consistent, that he is." Said the gentleman.
"Whoa Big brother, you actually caught soo many fish. You must be the fastest guy in the water." Said the girl cheerfully.
"You got that right, I guess you can say they got a shock t' their system when they saw me. But hey at least we get to eat your mom's premium cooking. Oooh old man, you mean if sango stops by too?? Trust me when I say she's great meal company." Yusuke said with a smile before he'd turn to face her.
Huh, would you look at that. It wasn't a thick shade of red on her face but the sign of flustering was still there. It made him really curious. "You gettin' a fever there Sango??"
Sango’s reaction came a beat too late to be anything but revealing. “I do not have a fever,” she said immediately, though the way her voice hardened made the denial sound more defensive than it needed to be.
Heat lingered stubbornly in her cheeks as she looked away from him, toward the river where the last ripples of his dramatic “victory” were still fading. Of course he would notice and say something about it. And of course, the old man’s words still echoed in her mind. Wife… Her grip tightened briefly on the hem of her sleeve. “That man is mistaken,” she added, calmer this time, though still pointedly avoiding Yusuke’s gaze. “And you are not helping.”
Kirara let out a low, amused sound behind her, as if entirely unconvinced by her composure. Sango exhaled through her nose, finally forcing herself to look back at him. The fluster was still there, but now it was being held in place by sheer willpower.“…You are entirely too pleased with yourself,” she said flatly, though there was no real bite to it.
Crap..he was afraid this would happen. He sustained a major wound and she'd examine him only to discover there wasn't anything physically wrong with him. It would explain the unbelievable things he's done for the village they stayed in.
Yusuke would then sit down..and hesitantly he'd raise the shirt from his back and reveal his chest. While he does retain the old bullet scars he received in his teen years. But everything that's supposed to be there recently was gone..all gone.
Nothing but the blood that stained his skin and as she'd wipe she wouldn't even find a new scar, he'd be completely clean.

Sango noticed his gaze lingering longer than necessary and immediately frowned. “If you have that much energy to spare, perhaps you should be checking the village instead.” The remark came a little too quickly. Get it together, Sango, this isn’t the first time a man has touched your face, she thought briefly, cheeks tainted pink.
She turned her attention toward the damaged homes, as though that had been what she was focused on all along. “Finding a place to camp first is sensible. There is a stream west of here. We can make camp nearby and keep watch over the road. If another demon was drawn here by the disturbance, I agree we must meet it before it reaches the village.”
Her gaze swept over the villagers already beginning repairs. “And once we’re settled, we should speak with the village elder. He will know who needs help first.” A small smile touched her lips. “And you owe me nothing. We agreed to see this through together, did we not?”
