I mostly made this blog to separate the little PSA posts I made from there for better ease of access so it can be more explicitly memes, I also did notice people sending anonymous messages agreeing with me / adding onto stuff so I feel like this is a better option.

This is not a 'burnbooking' or 'confession' blog, though I do tend to have a bit of a 'bite' to me sometimes, you're free to disagree but the block button is right there. The ask feature is on if you wish to add on something to a conversation, but I won't reply to asks alluding to situations / that seem genuinely vaguebloggy to me. I also don't 'boost' callout posts, I am not against callouts but this is not the blog for that, I apologize.
Here are my personal viewpoints;
rp confession / salt blogs are stupid as hell and just give cowards an extra step to vagueblog people without having the guts to just make their own vaguepost. the fact that they still exist in 2025 is pathetic and laughable. I wouldn't trust anyone who unironically submits to them OR reblogs from them.
vagueblogging is abusive! don't @ me.
callouts are valid, especially if they have evidence. if you're completely anti-callout, I genuinely hope you are not put into a situation where one of your mutuals tries to come to you for comfort after they confide in you that they were abused by someone in the rpc. sorry that I don't want the person with a clear pattern and history of abuse in my corner of the rpc just because they're the only person willing to write nsfw with you, bob. listen to all victims. if the callout turns out to be false, then yes, reprimand the OP, but a lot of bad interpersonal behavior is important for people to be aware of in this hobby. I don't want to be writing with someone who has a history of being an asshole in discord dms, believe it or not.
blocking people is part of life, you don't need a 'valid' reason to block someone. anyone who guilts you for blocking them / demands an explanation from you post-block / namedrops you over being blocked is a creep who has no self-awareness.
people who use AI for graphics, writing, ect, are losers who should not be participating in this hobby. end of.
if you get mad at DNIs instead of just moving on and respecting people's boundaries, you're in the wrong. that's that.
it isn't elitist to be selective. people are allowed to curate their space and don't need a 'valid' reason not to interact with you. the world doesn't revolve around you or anyone else for that matter.
duplicate drama is fucking stupid. if you legit can't handle some other roleplayer writing the same canon muse as you to such a degree that you talk shit about them in your little discord dms, just write an oc.
smut and fetishes are totally cool to write, you do you, but be honest about writing them. make a 18+ sideblog or make sure to make it crystal clear in your pinned that you write that content. please be considerate to people in the RPC who have 0 interest in writing that content. also, don't fetishmine. duh.
I created a Userstyle for the Chrome/Firefox Stylus Extension that reverts the new dashboard to the old look!
A fix for the new Tumblr dashboard! If you don't want the sticky header you can remove the labelled script at the top of the css below /* St
You need to have Stylus installed. So if you don't have it:
Install the Stylus Firefox Addon or the Manifest V2 Chrome Extension (You can install Chrome Extensions on Edge as well)
Once it's installed into Firefox/Chrome/Edge you can proceed with adding this style or any other.
To add the style (Stylus), follow the instructions:
Go to this link: https://userstyles.world/style/11286/old-tumblr-dashboard-userstyle (If it says 'style not found' then the Userstyle.world server is just down, try again in an hour)
Click on "install".
Style will open a tag with it and in the left side you'll have a button that says "install style", click there.

I highly recommend you switch to Firefox for continued use of good extensions! Stylus does not have a V3 update yet; however, the tamermonkey script works just as good.

click the Manage button on Stylus and click the check for update button next to the userstyle, then click again to install!
Make sure to check the Userstyle and see if the version number matches the one below if you don't see any changes!

v19.03: I have added the ability to customise the icons and text in the footer! This can be different between the dashboard and post-view - if you have any issues with this, shoot me a message using the I have a problem template.

v20.16: Mostly fixed! Still a lot of smaller things to work through but it looks about as good as it did before the update!

To customise the colour, enter the Configure menu as seen in the images below - If you are using the OLD / default icons, ignore any option that says "Using Old Icons". Set every other option to the same colour OR customise them.
If you are using NEW icons (i.e, If you set "Old Replies Icon 1; New") change all options that have it to 'Using New Icons' and then set every other option to the same colour OR customise them.
Options with "PostView" refer to viewing a post by clicking on its header or going to its own URL. If your theme has the same background on the dash and viewing a post just set these to the same colour as the other options!
You can also fix the positioning of the Communities button and subnav from this menu as well - it should remember your settings when you update!
Tumblr Post Width & More (OTD+ Userstyle) Is now available!!
OTD+ is an add on for Old Tumblr dashboard that you can use to edit the Post Width, Content Positioning & More - It must be used with Old Tumblr Dashboard installed as well on the latest update! This style might be merged with OTD in the future.

Known issues:
Only two columns in Masonry view. Semi-Unfixable, Tumblr creates columns based on monitor size, if I try adding another column (because it doesn't exist) it just perpetually loads on screen.
Semi-fix: Zoom out in chrome/firefox and it adds more columns, you may need to change the font size of the page though
Search bar doesn't appear on some pages (like viewing a post), this is because Tumblr removed the search bar on those pages completely. Unfixable but not a big deal
Tumblr has ONCE AGAIN CHANGED THE ACCOUNTS MENU. The menus are now shorter and have less information on them. This is unfortunately permanent. I do not see any way to fix this. Unfixable.
If you want people's icons to stay fixed in place, instead of scrolling with the dashboard change this in Stylus;

Menus need to be manually closed SOLVED! in V.4 and updated in V.5! The menu & icon WILL scroll with you if you have removed the sticky header CSS, however, clicking anywhere on screen will make the Menu disappear still.
Masonry view in searches is now fixed!

NEW UPDATE 16/08/23, 23:55 BST v6.5: Figured out how to reorganise the icons in the header. Let me know if you have any problems with it and make sure to update your Userstyle! Some icons are hidden with Display: Block; you can hide more icons with this method!

Brought back SOME of the icons for Tumblrs latest update - Unfortunately, this does not bring back user icons for Reblogged posts! Make sure to yell at Tumblr for removing the icons as well as the horrible dashboard update here!
v7.5 Fixed icons for all posts and put them back where they came from!
v6.9.6.9 (I promise this is the last funny number): Fuck Off Buggy The Clown Update + All languages support for the old header design!
v7.0: Fixed the search bar for tumblrs new collections feature, so it looks like the original search bar!
v8.0: Fixed masonry view icons, hidden the reblog icon on dashboard icons, fixed icons in blog viewport
V8.1: Fixed issue with icons not working on soft-refresh & with endless scrolling disabled - be sure to complain to staff!
v9.3: Changed a few things with the search feature, I also made the posts less round.
UPDATE2 11/04/2024: SO We mighhtttt have overrun their servers. š I'm getting a 500 Internal Server Error every time I try to fix it or upload it as a new style - the massive influx of people downloading the userstyle was probably too much. The Tampermonkey backup on Greasyfork works just fine though! Probably easier for a lot of people migrating anyway!
UPDATE 11/04/2024:: My code has broken on Userstyles.world, (it is now fixed as of 12/04/24) until this is fixed I have created a Tampermonkey Backup Version of the Userstyle so feel free to use this version if you've broken yours!

Made it possible to remove the reply to reply button just search for "NEW Replies UI" in the userstyle and remove the /* */ around "display: none" OR use Ublock to block the element!
v14.1: Reverted the "Original Poster" border + text to look like old version. Edit: Whoops, fixed an issue with showing the timestamps
v13.4: Added a way to fix the communities icon position if you don't have the New Xkit button or have hidden any of the icons. Just remove the highlighted /* */ pair in the code for what you need.
v14.11: Made Premium Perks button available in the bottom left corner for all premium users
v15.2: Fixed the Tumblr fuckup AND added a cool new feature that allows you to customise the look of your header & hide the reply-to-replies button if you like, here's how to customise this. Set to "Block" if you want the button/icon visible, Set to "None" if you want it hidden!

V16.0: Fixed Search view pages and made them look normal, unfortunately, I can't bring back the dropdown menus for "top"/"All Time" etc - but it should look more like the original now

this is really interesting in how it frames disability/low spoons/etc as not being a series of internal symptoms, but specifically a situation in which daily tasks increase in complexity. for example i used to be able to wash the dishes normally. but now mental and physical issues combine to make that situation have a lot of prequalifications (do I have time, energy, how long can I do it without being sore the next day) that means many more steps are involved in getting that single physical act of washing a dish to be done.
Don't you sometimes get an absolutely extrodinary, mind blowing, such an awesome idea for a story, but you just don't have enough skill level to pull it off?
Write it anyway, write it anyway, write it anyway.
There are so, so, so many reasons:
You gain that skill level only through practice. So practice.
No matter what youāre writing, no matter how badly you think youāve written it, there is ALWAYS some audience that will love it and cherish it.
You can use what you write the first time around as a first draft and just rewrite it again later when you feel like tackling the story again!
Rewriting the same story over and over is a valid writing process. Itās literally just creating new drafts. Each iteration will be better than the last, because each is building on your growing skill and experience.
If you love the story, it will always be worth telling simply for your own enjoyment. If no one else ever sees it, thatās okay! Your art should be for you first, anyway.

This commonly used extension to un-twitterfy the dashboard is currently having issues with displaying paragraph breaks properly. Here's how it looks without the extension (how it's supposed to look);

While this isn't completely site-ruining, it is indeed a bit annoying, and the extension does appear to be the cause. There will hopefully be an update for this, but just know it isn't just you.

Has anyone else been getting tagged in this weird ass post? I have reported two different blogs and blocked them.. and just got tagged again on a third post exactly the same as the first two on another account with the same type of name.
Never be afraid to recycle an idea you had for a project you already completed. Sometimes ideas really are just that good and deserve to be used more than once.
In light of recent events, I have begun submitting bug reports when I see mature content labels applied inappropriately to posts, especially if an appeal has been rejected.
for what it's worth: after a few months of submitting help tickets as 'feedback' when i saw a post inappropriately flagged as mature, i tried following this suggestion instead. today i got my first-ever response from tumblr support on this issue, letting me know that a post i'd submitted a ticket before has had its mature content flag removed.
I don't know who my intended audience is here, so whoever needs to hear this, I am begging you to learn to participate in conversations that are about things you aren't interested in.
