Hello, friends! To introduce myself: I go by the name Mirana, my pronouns are she/her and I'm 21 years old.

As you can probably see, I'm an InuYasha fan (not a YashaHime fan). My list of fandoms includes (but isn't limited to): Marvel (mainly Avengers and X-Men, not a fan of Ragnarok, or the Loki series; Team Cap); Ace Attorney; MCSM (Minecraft Story Mode, always loved it); Street Fighter (forever a Ken stan and a Vega simp); The Good Place; LOTR/The Hobbit/The Silmarillion; Jurassic Park; I also happen to be a survivor of the original FNaF fandom; the Lucky Luke 2026 live action series brought back my inner Daltons fan, so expect me to show it sometimes lol.

English isn't my first language (Italian is), so if my posts sometimes seem to be written in a funky grammar/vocabulary, that's the reason why.

As I already stated before, I'm an OC maker (I write them but don't draw them since I'm incapable of making even the easiest shape). You may actually see some ffs at some point but I'm still unsure right now (my work would include OCs tho, maybe not always but often).

So, that's it, I hope my blog may offer nice and relatable content to some users.

I've got to admit, I find it funny how Joe always goes by a nickname/shortened version of his first name while William is always referred to with his full name.

Once again, I'm totally sure I am just reading too much into characters I'm hyperfixated on and giving them extra characteristics pulled out of my ahh, but really, it's kind of telling (or at least it could be) on their personalities.

Joe's the eldest, the leader, yet he never uses his full name (which I'm sure is canon? Because yeah, there are people who are just legally named Joe, but I'm pretty sure his actual canon name's Joseph, unless I'm tweaking). It's not even something that just comes from others, he himself often says things like "[yadda yadda, threatening] or my name's not Joe Dalton!". I just find it interesting. Maybe he thinks he sounds more "Wild West like"? Which I can kinda see honestly, Joseph is more of a "formal" name? (The hell am I even saying what 😭). (I could launch myself in a more philosophical, introspective line of reasoning that says it's the one thing that may relieve the pressure of being the leader from his back, him getting to keep at least one thing lighter, the nickname he was given as a child, something he never abandoned... but no, I won't).

William on the other hand never calls himself (or is called by others) things like Will, Bill and such. It makes sense since, for starters, Bill was the name of one of their infamous cousins, and it would probably be kinda messy for different reasons. Then, he doesn't seem like a nickname kinda guy lol, maybe (once again pulling things out of my ass, unless this was stated at some points in a run, but I don't think so) it's a way of identifying more as the book smart brother, which actually fits him. Maybe it feels more responsible.

Perhaps.

Do I like doing these things?

Yes. Absolutely.

Is this a safe space to admit I don't like The Daltons series?

It's not offensive by any means, but it's just not my cup of tea. I'm not really a fan of how the daltons are written in it, they weirdly feel dumbed down? And this is a nitpick, but I don't looove the art style either.. The animation is very nice, though.

That being said, liking it is totally fine!! I see the appeal of it, and I used to like it a lot when I was younger. I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority here😭

I won't lie, the main reason why I appreciate it so much is because I grew up with it. That, + Jack and William actually getting personalities and interests (it was heartbreaking to find out later in life how little characterization they get in many other media). It's endearing in a very particular way, but mostly because of nostalgia and also the brothers' dynamic, occasionally. There are some good ideas and cameos (it's sad that we never really see Lucky Luke tho), but I wholeheartedly agree that evasion being their single goal throughout the whole series is tiring. Like... You have the Dalton brothers. All-time fan favorites. There are so many ways to use them and contexts to place them in. Don't just lock them in a literal cage.

Also yeah, the stereotypes are... 😬🫩. Yeah, I don't think I gotta add anything.

I've been watching The Orville (almost at the end of season 3, waiting for season 4), and as a lifelong Star Trek TOS fan I just love how this "parody" series inherited its tendency of including modern day elements at any given excuse despite taking place 400 years in the future, it really makes it feel like a worthy descendant of TOS.

(I also love how said elements are included, in a slightly more "realistic" way),

(and I love how inclusive, deep and open minded it gets, just like TOS).

That being said, The Orville is underrated, and I think it's a really beautiful love letter not only to Star Trek, but also to the scifi genre in general.

In this episode of "Taking Lucky Luke and the Dalton brothers too seriously"

Because last night I was thinking what they would be doing in a Modern AU (because being criminals and vigilantes just wouldn't work the same way nowadays, while in the Far West everything was a little crazy).

I decided to base their occupation on all types of media that portray their interests/talents.

Jack would probably be a mechanic (maybe even an engineer since he's one of the "smart brothers"), and yes I'm also using the 2010s animated series because it gives them all character (JUSTICE FOR THE TWINS) and because I love it dearly.

William could easily be a professor, given how he's the one with the biggest cultural baggage. I just need to decide what he'd be specialized in since he appeared to have interest in different fields.

Averell could either be a cook or a painter (or maybe both, because honestly why not, go my multitasking king).

Lucky Luke himself would probably be one of those cops who joined the force to change the system like a way less aggressive Rosa Diaz (or maybe a PI, which would cover the Lonesome Cowboy part).

And then we have Joe. I actually stumbled a little with him, because despite having a fleshed out personality, his interests mostly float around his "job". Then, while I was rewatching the 2010s series (yes I'm so sorry, I just like it that much), I got an idea. Bear with me.

Firefighter. Yes I know, but think about it. It's a dangerous job, full of adrenaline and the type of occupation that involves the use of heavy tool. Which fits him rather nicely. Not to mention the fact that the stereotypical cop/firefighter rivalry thing would give him a reason to know and dislike Luke. (Yes, I was watching the firefighters episode, no I won't take this affirmation back).

I had a dream where a brand new Marvel comic run was about to come out and the first comic had Spideypool getting married on the cover and it made me so happy I woke up and started Googling said comic just to realize that I just dreamed it and then I proceeded to fall to my knees like Walter White in the meme.

I'm watching some of the original older Lucky Luke movies/media (yes, I fear the hyperfixation won't leave easily, if ever at this point lmao) and not only is the animation really good for the years these were made in (pretty sure it got remastered, but even without the newer extra work it's impressive), but it's also a great source of canon information, even if sometimes the canon is wobbly (and you might say "yeah no shit" and. Yes, you're right).

Spolier alert I guess? Even if this stuff is older than most people on this site probably lmao.

The 1971 Daisy Town movie shows how all four Daltons are actually really good marksmen, even if they don't ever stand a chance against Luke's speed. Also, I know it's just supposed to be a sketch to display the brothers' stupidity, but it was really interesting to see Averell hold his own in a shootout against his three brothers (I'm assuming they weren't really aiming at each other directly since, you know, they're a team and care about each other). They do end up fistfighting with each other for a moment which is funny (and also shows that Averell isn't always a complete pushover, especially since the reason they started fighting in the first place was Luke making him notice the others were "underestimating" him).

Am I taking them too seriously? Probably.

Can you expect me to post again about these media? Very likely.

Another thing about the new Lucky Luke series.

They "anticipated" the events/timeline? Like what... Why.

Not really a critique, I enjoyed the series (and this is not one of the few things I'd "complain" about), but since Abe Lincoln appears it means that it takes place in 1865 tops, which is a little too early since the comics and other series/movies supposedly take place in the 1890s (so basically the last part of the Wild West period), and I'm genuinely wondering why? Did they want to include the president that bad? Lol?

In the comics Luke Luke seem to hop from the 1850s to the 1890s at will and in no particular order. For exemple the Buffalo Creek rush featured in the "Rodeo" album is likely set in 1899 ( Luke mentions the Gold Rush of 1849) and he faces the OG Daltons when he was in his prime and the gang was active in the early 1890s. Morris and writers would play hopscotch with the timeline throughout the series but they still seem to give it a limit in scope. Current writer of the series Jul certainly acts with this philosophy in mind.

Back to Lincoln. Why this president specifically? My guesses are it's because him and Luke met a couple of times in the comics. Lincoln is also still positevely regarded by modern audiences and he apparently was quite the badass himself so show writers probably thought he'd match with Luke well. ( There is also the matter of his assassination which ends up kinda play a role as well )

It's a little funny because the show plays the "Wild West is dying" trope but like...Lincoln's presidency happened in the 1860s. The Wild West is still in full swing lol

Luke's actor, Alban Lenoir said that the show was meant to happen "close 10 years after the comic series" so I guess it can give you a vague idea of the timeline.

Personally, playing with that I would have taken the 18890 period, add said 10 yeats and have Luke and co. Interact with *this* president :

Lucky Luke and US presidents are an interesting topic in of itself, because I remember how the president in the New Adventures of Lucky Luke was Ulysses Simpson Grant and it kinda give the show specific timeline.

At the same time Lincoln in comics seems to be part of older albums... aside from Lucky Luke versus Pinkerton where there is this whole thing with Lincoln hiding from assassins during a tour.

(We also have Rutherford Hays in Man from Washington.)

But yeah, Lucky Luke meeting Theodore Roosevelt would be great. Kinda topical too, since he's often described as "cowboy president" for all the awesome things he was doing. And since this is supposed to be "an older" Lucky Luke, Roosevelt's presidency would give the viewers the feeling that times are changing.

As an additional note for this nice thread, Billy the Kid died at 22 in 1881 (if I'm not wrong) so yeah, the timeline error is more evident if you think about it (same applies for Calamity Jane, who was born in the 1850s). Just having the series a little later would have fixed it, and we could've had another cool president that wasn't Lincoln. I "hate" it when they get lost in such simple mistakes, they could've just tweaked the year and president and it would have been a correct timeline.

Also, just to add something, it IS just a theory buuuut... I'm pretty sure that the reason the Daltons were cut is because they'd steal (lmao) the spotlight from the others. I'm not even saying this because I'm their fan, it actually happened before, they were cut from Lucky Luke related media because the creators knew they'd be getting all the attention, you can look it up. They probably balanced it by leaving Joe alone with Luke and Louise. And yeah, it worked. Doesn't change the fact that I want a series/season focused on the four brothers, because the actors were honestly so good.

FNaF 3 is coming next year, and I'm honestly very pumped for all of the possible upcoming sequels. I have no idea for how long they will keep coming out, but I'm pretty sure it's going to reach Sister Location to the very least (and I honestly wonder how they are going to write each and every movie, since the always seem to surprise us). (Man, I can't wait to start belting out I Can't Fix You during the credits).

FNaF 6 is very likely too, I think, but I'd be very curious to see a Security Breach movie, since the animatronics actually have their own minds and personalities without being possessed.
